Grady Photography

For an event outside of my studio, I am incredibly punctual. On time and early is always best for me. When at an event I like to blend in with the crowd around me, participating in any outfit suggestions or themes the event has put on. Obviously, if professional black’s is required, I will be more than happy to accommodate. When at the event, my camera is always in my hand, photographing anything and everything that seems unique to the event itself. Once the event has ended, I immediately start editing photos, typically clients of mine receive photos between 1-5 days after the event. If critiques in editing arise, re-edits will be completed within 24 hours (depending on client needs).

I started my career as a child model, and stage performer, mainly working for Lakeshore Learning and local Orange County theatre companies, once I realized modeling and performing wasn’t for me, I got behind the camera. I was awarded 3rd place at my first art competition in elementary school, submitting a photo of a pelican about to take flight. I picked my camera back up in high school for a photography class, where I was told that if I wanted a career in photography I was going to have to work a lot harder than the rest of my peers.
I took the craft seriously in 2022. I began this leg of my creative journey in the underground Long Beach punk scene, taking my camera to every bar and concert I could. Here, I learned the importance and value of a quick but methodical shot. Learning that patience for the right shot is much better than taking 150 photos where only 10 turn out the way I wanted.
After learning the ropes of event photography, I made the journey to my current studio in the DTLA Arts District. There I began focusing on studio portraits and conceptual photography. All the while still photographing concerts, flea markets, and fundraiser events.
I get a lot of inspiration from all over the place, some of my favorite photographers are Tommy Kha, Gordon Parks, and William Comargo. Kha for the way he uses colors and bright subject to describe inner turmoil; Parks for his determination and autheticity when shooting subjects; and Comargo for his determination in sharing political discourse.

For events, some lighting is required, if there are no stage lights, I will need to use my flash or bring some additional lighting to ensure photos turn out with the quality I am able to give.
For a studio shoot, if I do not have the color background or set you are wanting an additional fee will be added to compensate for prices of needed supplies.
