The Pedigree: Decades Of Showmanship
The musical and entertainment roots on this stage run generations deep. These are seasoned performers who built the show they were always meant to build.
Papa Dirk - vocalist, trombonist, emcee, actor, and the shows comedic anchor. He brings a wealth of seasoned artistry to the stage, having performed backup vocals for Barry Manilow and starred as a lead actor in a national touring stage production. His credentials also span as a lead performer with an improv comedy troupe, touring internationally as a trombonist and delivering standout performances with the Watchmen Quartet on Southern Gospel stages across the Western United States. As emcee, his warmth and humor turn every performance into an experience audiences remember — and his cold opens set the tone for an evening where music and comedy share the spotlight equally.
Cheryl (Mom Z) - banjoist, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. The creative heartbeat of the show and the one who first heard the music in a dream. Cheryl is the granddaughter of Grand Ole Opry performer Doug Bragg and The Western Drifters on her father’s side — and on her mother's side, cousin to the legendary Jim Reeves. Her first studio recording was alongside Agape Force and folk legend Barry McGuire, and she was touring North America by age 13 with The Singing Bragg Family.
The next generation features D-3 on drums and Clara on bass and ukulele, both lifelong performers who practically grew up on stage. Their seamless musicality stems from a lifetime of being immersed in the artistry.
D-3 anchors the rhythm section. He boasts a stunning vocal range that honors his father’s musical legacy while effortlessly delivering modern sounds with his own unique edge. His background as a student of dance and musical theater brings a polished, captivating presence to the stage. Beyond his triple-threat performance skills, he is continuously crafting his voice as a compelling songwriter.
Clara Ailani beautifully rounds out the family sound on bass, ukulele, and vocals. She possesses a rare gift for joyful spontaneity, keeping the crowd smiling between the songs that touch the heart. As a student of dance, she infuses the performance with poise. Remarkably, her deep knowledge of vintage music is entirely unmatched for someone her age, adding an authentic, timeless dimension to the family’s repertoire.
