Over the past 14 years of the bands existence, GNWT has developed a vast repertoire of cover songs as well as original music. Specializing in Classic Country & Classic Rock, Gary Nix & West!Texas, have played many various venues across Texas & Eastern New Mexico. GNWT has built a following in bar and restaurant venues and a demand for corporate, wedding, convention, and other private events. The band and the state-of-the art sound system they travel with, are adaptable to any size venue, from an intimate trio to a full 7 piece band and audiences of 1000 or more.

Gary Nix & West!Texas is a professional, well seasoned band. GNWT is a show/dance band that plays to the crowd. Requests and audience participation are welcome. The band is comprised of from 4-6 pieces depending on the function and venue, and can also perform 3 piece acoustic shows if desired.
With our state-of-the art sound system and professional sound technician, we can accommodate most venues from the smaller intimate places to outdoor & larger facilities.
After playing together for 4 years in various bands, Gary, Brian, and Lonnie formed Gary Nix & West!Texas in 2009. Gary Nix, an Arkansas emigrant, has an extensive music history; playing with Charlie Rich, Ferlin Husky, and The Wilkinson Bros. in Branson. He has opened for Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, and many others. Lonnie Kuss played in his first band in Junior High in Slaton, TX. Brian Ashburn began playing in High School in Plains, TX, and has played in the Lubbock area since 1984. Rounding out the group Gary Nix & West!Texas utilizes some of the top musicians in the area on, lead guitar, steel, and keyboard.
