Gig Length: 40 - 180 minutes
The stage is set with three guitars; two acoustic and one electric guitar. Gary comes out and picks up one of the guitars and launches into a song. At times, he tells a story about how the song was written, or an anecdote about the song. He may switch to another acoustic guitar in a different tuning, or to the electric guitar. At times, he may even use some backing tracks from the CD in order to more fully recreate a song from a recording. Throughout the show, Gary exudes a calm and ease that brings the audience into his mood; his lyrics expand the mind and heart. He explores both the world around him and the world within.
Gary Blanchard has been writing and performing since 1966. Inspired by the singer/songwriters of the time, Gary offers original songs that have positive, uplifting messages that both soothe and entertain. In recent years Gary had released a number of CDs; he released two studio CDs and one live CD in 2016, and has already released another CD of new material in April of 2017.
There are no special needs for lighting or staging. I do require a sound system that will accommodate one microphone and three guitars. If needed, a sound system can be provided.
