New Orleans Style Second Line Parade

This event turned out even better than expected. It wasn't supposed to rain but rain it did. However, we lucked out with a 1/2 hour reprive to do our parade. All the guests and the neighbors enjoyed it so much. The band was great and easy to work with. Good guys.

What to expect

We are a collective of horn players and we can offer a flexible ensemble size depending on the needs of the event. From a couple horns leading a processional at a wedding to a full-blown parade, we have what you need. While we play many popular brass band songs that you expect to hear out of New Orleans, we also have many contemporary songs we've arranged for our band. We love when people connect to our music and cater our sets to match what the audience would like to hear.

About

Full Blown Horns was started in 2020 by our sousaphone player after he returned to Utah after living in New Orleans where he studied jazz. Inspired by the many brass bands in New Orleans, we decided to bring that energy to Utah where we can share our passion for the music of NOLA and the incredible cultural heritage that surrounds it. Since our founding, we've played many shows for all different types of events and audiences. These shows include street festivals, weddings, venue shows, and unique to this style of band, many parades/second lines.

All of our instruments are acoustic which allows us the unique opportunity to play in spaces that don't have access to power, while still providing a full sounding band. This also allows us to play parades where we march with our horns and drums. In full New Orleans fashion, we love playing parades and have marched for fundraisers, weddings, funerals, and festivals.

Additional booking notes

All of our instruments are acoustic, so no matter the scale of the event, our technical needs are relatively small and flexible.
For larger events with the full ensemble, our needs usually consist of the following:

(~12) Mics for:
- 1 vox/MC
- 2 trombones
- 1 saxophone
- 2 trumpets
- 1 sousaphone
- 1 drum kit
(~5) Monitors for:
- trombones
- sax
- trumpets
- drummer
- sousaphone
