Overview
Free Radicals is a 21-time Houston Press and Houston Chronicle award-winning band that can be seen performing across Houston at parties, weddings, clubs, funerals, break-dance competitions, and street protests. We perform as a jazz combo, a dance band with a horn section, a marching band with tuba, or even switch from one to another. We're available with 1 to 25 musicians, and play original instrumental material, and you can customize the band to your needs.

They fit the theme of our 1920s Gatsby event with amazing jazz music. The artists were early, professional, and engaging. They played and sang nonstop with great songs. 5/5 We would us them again!

I hired two musicians from Free Radicals as I already had a DJ. The were on time, dressed very well, and they took things up a notch! I wanted to bring a little New Orleans flavor to the dance floor and they delivered. Max and Al were great!

We had a jazz quartet during our wedding cocktail hour and everyone complemented the musicians. It was the perfect way to transition from our ceremony to reception. Nick was easy to work with and very communicative throughout the planning process. The DJ payed all our favorite songs and kept the reception rolling. We had a blast and so did our guests!

What to expect
We can be a quiet jazz trio in the corner, a loud marching band coming through the room and bringing everyone to their feet, or a party band on stage encouraging everyone to hit the dance floor. We are equally comfortable being the center of attention or background music. Our main goal is to support you, customizing your special event to your needs.

Since 1996, Free Radicals has been performing around Houston and around the US, winning the award for Best Jazz 13 times in the Houston Press, and winning the award for album of the year 3 times in the Houston Chronicle and Houston Press.
Additional booking notes
The marching band is entirely self-sufficient. We don't need electricity, a sound system, a stage, even chairs.
Smaller mood music combos we need electricity for our amps, but no sound system is required.
For the full stage band, we need a PA system, which we can bring or use a provided system.
