What to expect
Fracture performances are high-energy shows that combine original rock music with a style closest to Green Day or Fidlar with some covers from the 90's when Nirvana and Stone Temple Pilots ruled the airwaves.
Don't expect background music for a sit down dining experience, but do expect a crowd that is engaged and cheering, and smiling ear to ear by the last song.
About
Fracture is a rock band from New York made up of four teen age musicians who deliver high-energy performances of original rock music with lyrics that touch on the challenges of their generation.
Jake Valois supplies an overload of intensity to the drumming that is only matched by his incredible precision. Gabby Cabral adds a solid bass line that far exceeds expectations as you watch her humbly plucking away up on stage, grooving to Fracture's punk beat. Ryan James is nothing short of pure energy on rhythm guitar, pounding his guitar and flying so high in the air at times, it seems almost unreal. Rounding it out, Jon Thomas leaves nothing on the table with solid vocals, sky-high energy, and mean guitar solos.
The music is catchy and enjoyable but the messages they deliver are what makes this band really stand out. Their lyrics touch on a variety of themes including the importance of individuality and technology's impact on the breakdown of social interactions in modern society. They deliver their message through their original music that has the power of Punk Rock with the tones of Classic Rock and just enough obscenities to grab people’s attention.
Fracture was formed in March 2014 by Jon Thomas, Fracture’s songwriter, lead singer, and lead guitarist.
Fracture's first EP, Broken Walls, was released in August 2015.
Fracture began performing publicly on a regular basis starting in January 2015. They have played at The Airmont Pub (formerly The Roadhouse) in Airmont, NY, Casa Del Sol in Nyack, Olive's in Nyack, Andes Hotel in the NY Catskill Mountains, The Grand Victory in Williamsburg Brooklyn, and the Ramapo Town Fireworks show at Rockland Community College. They also perform regularly at local music shows. In addition, on March 14, 2015, Fracture secured a 1st place win in the St. Thomas Aquinas College Battle of the Bands. They were invited back to open for the College's Spring Show where they performed a well received set to approximately 200 college students. Feedback from the Battle of the Bands Judges was positive and included comments including these:
- "Originals very catchy - could imagine them on the radio! Made a nice presence of their original style."
- "Nice vocals, reminds me of Green Day. Good vocal dynamics! Strong vocals."
- "Great stage presence, they really looked like they were having a great time. Knew how to talk to the crowd and introductions of the band while playing was great"
- "Female bass player - hell yeah! Good balance of sound, everyone was well represented"
- "Overall they have their stuff together. This was not their first rodeo."
- " You take this seriously as musicians but have fun performing"
Fracture schedules 1-2 shows per month on average. They are currently working on expanding outside of their local region and have scheduled performances in upstate NY and New York City. In addition, they are in the planning stages for their 1st LP to be released in 2016.
