What to Expect
Tagi comes complete with a professional Robot Operator that we provide. Tagi typically performs 40 minutes on, 20 minutes off. Though, exceptions are usually made when large crowds are present & interacting with our beloved Bot, to gain maximum exposure and entertainment value.
Tagi can roll on carpet, concrete, and tile, but does not roll on grass surfaces.
For multi day conventions or other gigs, Tagi requires a secure storage room and access to a standard electrical outlet for overnight charging.
For events in which one of our Robots will be speaking on stage, we require a sound check pre-show, typically 1 hour + prior to start time.
Other then that, Tagi ( and our other Bots such as as Woody the Dancing Christmas Tree and Halloween Bot) usually behave themselves, and are quite a hoot to have around!
In 1989 while still living in Nashville, TN, founder Russ Martin built robots in his spare time. He designed a "Smart Robot" that could turn left and make a right turn via voice command and he convinced the Cumberland Science Museum to buy it. Next, he moved to Florida with his fiancé Fay, and on a trip to the beach he dreamed up a six wheel drive, drink-serving robot - which he built in two weeks. It would roll along the sand and serve cold beer or soda-pop. It was a hit, & a local carpet cleaning company owner bought it right out of the Martins hall closet! Russ continued with his unique inventions, designing a letter-making bubble machine, which he took to local businessman Brett Kingstone. Brett liked the robot idea better though, and ended up buying a life-size robotic Pepsi can instead & Florida Robotics was born.
In 2016, Fay took over sole ownership of Florida Robotics and now nearly 25 years and hundreds of robots later, She continues to design innovative, entertainment robots for rental and sale which can be found creating fun in 32 countries worldwide.
