Overview
Matt Fuhrman (lead vocals and cajon) and Jamie Green (guitars and harmony vocals) make up Flatwater* Band. Born and raised in Nebraska, they've both call Kansas City home since the 1990s. Between them they have over 70 years of performing experience performing live music. You'll love our acoustic shows! We play everything from the 1960s, 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s!
(*Flatwater is the Native American term for Nebraska)

James and Matt of the Flatwater duo are experienced, skilled musicians and have played together for many years, which shows in their performances. Both are solid vocalists - Matt is primarily a singer and James sings and plays guitar. Their duo song sets include covers of classic and alternative rock songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and beyond, including lots of crowd-pleasing favorites. Their camaraderie comes through, which adds to the overall experience for the audience.

We focus on songs that highlight harmonies (Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel and Alice and Chains) and songs we have loved over the decades.
About
Jamie Green (guitars and vocals) and Matt Fuhrman (vocals and cajon) both grew up in Nebraska where they played in various bands in college, but never met while there. When Jamie wanted to start up a 90s tribute band named Thunder Jacket, he couldn't find anyone he liked until a mutual friend suggested Matt and Jamie quickly realized Matt was what he was looking for. Thunder Jacket played numerous gigs over 5 years before folding in 2021. Matt and Jamie quickly realized that acoustic gigs were and easy way to continue playing with just the two of them.
When Matt is not available, Jamie plays with Missy Andeel (piano), or does solo shows.
As Gen Xers, we play the music we loved growing up listening to (60s through 80s) and what we they loved in the 90s!
