Am an african storyteller, specialize in African riddles and proverbs too. I tell stories that entertain, transform and challenge the audience. My goal is to impact lives all over the world with one story at a time.

What to expect

About
My name is George Oo but I go by my stage name Fishmonger Stories. Am an ICU nurse fighting Corona by day and telling African stories to children and adults in hospitals to preserve Oral literature. Most of my events have been cancelled due to Covid 19 and that is why I started telling stories and uploading on YouTube as Fishmonger stories. Aim is to tell African stories, proverbs and riddles that entertain, transform and challenge the audience, one story at a time..

A good wireless microphone is all I need. I will bring my djembe drums, xylophone and shakers. I perform in full Maasai costume, sometimes in Leopard skin or snake skin costume and real leather authentic props from Africa.

Influences and inspiration
I have been inspired by many previous renowned storytellers like Usifu Jalloh from Sierra Leone, Mara Menzies from Kenya and the great Jane Blake storyteller from UK via Jamaica. Many research on the value of storytelling on mental health, education and wellness also greatly influence my approach in storytelling.
