Nichelle Lewis, founder of Faces by Nish is widely considered to be one of the most sought after makeup artists by showcasing her uncanny ability to bring out the best attributes of her clientele. Among her list of accolades are actor Dai Boggan, rap pioneer Roxanne Shant, pop star Lisa Lisa of Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, and working side-by-side with the ARTographer, Raymond “The Wolverine” Weal. Nichelle has also enlisted her talents on the set of countless model shoots, magazine spreads, music videos, television and public awareness campaigns in the Washington DC metropolitan area.

Nichelle’s gift of creating and recreating her clients through makeup was looked upon as a hobby for her in her earlier years saying, “Making faces was my hobby because I’ve always enjoyed making people feel good about themselves and I enjoy giving them a different perspective of their beauty.” Nichelle’s “hobby” soon became her passion in August 2000 when she displayed her “artwork” at a close friend’s wedding. Ultimately sparking a number of inquiries and “when can you do me’s?” Nichelle decided to look at makeup artistry as just that—ART; and pursued a career in enhancing what is already beautiful into that much more. Nichelle has since acquired a color expertise that spans all areas of the makeup/fashion industry. Currently, she has gone on to work on numerous photo shoots, model calendars, weddings, and special events. She has also coordinated hair and makeup on the set of magazine shoots. Holding true to date, Nichelle especially enjoys doing weddings, citing “that’s where I humbly begin this incredible journey”.

With her captivating style, positive persona, and attention to client needs, Nichelle presently and often collaborates with other renowned makeup artists and photographers in the industry. Being knowledgeable of both makeup and fashion; her trendsetting sense of style and down to earth approach make her forceful in Washington, DC and beyond.
