What to expect
When guests see there's a caricature artist in attendance, there's always an additional rush of excitement. Though the artist is there to draw and amaze the guests, for some the magic is in simply WATCHING the artist create a beautiful caricature of the guests sitting in The Hot Seat!
Ed's caricatures are humorous, never mean or hurtful, and are a delight for the client and the spectators.
Live Caricatures are offered in two formats:
1) Traditional- drawn on 11x17 paper, 'the old fashioned way'! Always a crowd pleaser. The subject(s) sit down, the artist draws while the crowd watches with excitement! After a few minutes, much to the enjoyment of the crowd, the artist reveals the finished piece of art and the subject(s) get to enjoy their brand new personalized caricature!
2) Digital! A new take on a familiar theme, an incredible eye catching setup, perfect for parties or conventions, sure to attract attention! Caricatures are drawn in a similar fashion to traditional caricatures, only drawn on an iPad, which is connected to a monitor (supplied by the artist) so EVERYONE in attendance can see the drawing materialize in real time on the screen! After the reveal, a 4x6 printout is presented to the subject in a protective mylar sleeve or an add-on lanyard case, as well as a link for them to download their drawing to their phone/device! These are a really cool and fun option.
About
An award winning children's book illustrator, Mad magazine artist and all around commercial artist, live caricatures is at the foundation of it all, and the reason why I continue to do live gigs.
Numerous awards won for live caricatures, and now offering digital caricatures in addition to traditional (on paper)!
Additional booking notes
All I would need is 3 or 4 chairs. If possible, a small table is always a plus.
My services require around 6 x 6 or so of space, but I'm used to utilizing whatever is available to make it work.
If Digital Caricatures are requested, I'd need electrical access. I bring all necessary extension cords, etc, to make it as easy for you as possible!
