Additional booking notes

East Coast Soul typically provides all of our own high-quality audio equipment, stage lighting, and instruments -- no additional rentals or coordination required. We strive to offer a fully self-contained, professional setup that allows you to focus on your event, not the tech.

We also include a dedicated audio technician at every event to manage sound levels and ensure optimal audio quality throughout the evening. This is especially helpful for balancing volume across different parts of the night, from ceremonies and toasts to full-band dance sets -- so everything sounds great without ever feeling too loud or too soft.

Additional options such as uplighting, and expanded production packages are available upon request for an added fee. Additionally, if your venue has existing AV infrastructure that you'd prefer we use, we're happy to coordinate with their staff to ensure a seamless experience.

Let us know what you need, and we’ll make it happen -- our goal is to make things easy, stress-free, and sound amazing from start to finish.

Influences and inspiration

East Coast Soul is deeply inspired by the timeless legends of funk, soul, and R&B -- artists whose music brings people together, fills dance floors, and stands the test of time.

Our performances pay homage to the classic pioneers of soul and Motown, including:
~ Aretha Franklin
~ Stevie Wonder
~ Otis Redding
~ James Brown
~ Marvin Gaye
~ The Temptations
~ Ray Charles
~ Smokey Robinson
~ Curtis Mayfield

We also draw from the funk innovators and groove masters of the '70s and '80s:
~ Earth, Wind & Fire
~ Tower of Power
~ Chaka Khan
~ Sly & The Family Stone
~ Prince
~ The Meters

And we love incorporating modern R&B and soul artists who keep the tradition alive with fresh sounds:
~ Alicia Keys
~ Anderson .Paak
~ John Legend
~ Leon Bridges
~ Bruno Mars
~ Lake Street Dive

While we focus heavily on soul and funk, we’re also influenced by the greats of pop, rock, and hip-hop, especially when reimagining popular songs with a soulful twist.

Our goal is to blend these influences into performances that feel both timeless and relevant—giving every event that joyful, high-energy spirit you only get from a truly great live band.
