Dutch Holly combines infectious electronic grooves, lush vocal harmonies, and live instruments to create a dreamy, all-original indie pop sound and an energetic live show that captivates club, festival, and private event audiences.

Dutch Holly is an electronic indie pop duo from Prescott, Arizona, led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jen Juniper and producer and multi-instrumentalist Tres Ikner. Since forming in 2010, the Arizona indie pop project has evolved from a larger guitar-oriented ensemble into an independent electronic duo combining songwriting, synthesizers, guitar, rhythm programming, live looping, layered vocals, and experimental production.

The 2015 EP Outlaw marked the transition into Dutch Holly’s current form and moved indie electronic production to the center of the group’s sound. Over the following decade, Juniper and Ikner developed a style that moves between electronic indie pop, dream pop, indietronica, art rock, new wave, and synth-pop, blending melodic songwriting with atmospheric synth textures and cinematic production. Releases including “The Me You See Now,” “Let the Light In,” “Phoenix,” and “Spirit Eyes” trace that evolution toward an increasingly expansive electronic sound.

A turning point came in May 2025, when Dutch Holly performed at Prescott’s Pure Imagination Festival, sharing the festival bill with Cheap Trick, Arrested Development, Matisyahu, The English Beat, and other nationally and internationally recognized artists.

Beyond performing, Juniper and Ikner co-produce Synthesis Microfest, a two-night Arizona festival devoted to experimental electronic music. The project reflects the duo’s broader role in cultivating and connecting Arizona’s independent electronic-music community.

Dutch Holly’s live performances translate the duo’s layered studio production into a combination of synthesizers, guitar, electronic rhythms, vocal harmonies, effects, and live looping, allowing songs to expand and change in performance rather than simply reproducing the recordings.

In 2026, Dutch Holly returned to the song that marked the beginning of its duo era with a newly recorded “Funny Girl (11th Anniversary Edition).” That August, Phoenix’s Musical Instrument Museum featured Dutch Holly in its Celebrate Electronic Music program. The duo’s forthcoming album, Persephone’s Picnic, is scheduled for release October 14, 2026.

Stage Mics

For venues where stage volume isn’t sufficient to project to the audience and stage mics are required, follow these specifications:

Jen Juniper’s percussion rig: Two overheads (Cloud 44A pair or AKG C2000B pair or comparable), one snare mic (Shure SM58 or comparable), and one floor tom mic (Shure SM7B, or Sennheiser 421 or comparable).

In instances where Tres Ikner’s guitar amp must be miked, use a Shure SM-57, Sennheiser 421, or comparable. Alternately, Dutch Holly can provide a direct out (1/4″ mono).

Technical Details

Stage Monitors should be fed Program Left and Right, Vocal 1 and 2, some guitar mic (if applicable), Alesis Drum Pad, and some of the drum mics (if applicable).

Dutch Holly uses an in-ear monitoring system run from their Front of House (FOH) rack. As a result, the vocal inputs and Program inputs to the house will come from this rack and will include programmed vocal effects, submixed keyboards, and samples. All are leveled accordingly with house mix in mind.

Dutch Holly uses live-looping and MIDI programming to augment their sound. Adequate setup time and a sound check is necessary to ensure quality performance.

Program Left and Program Right inputs must be panned <100% left> and <100% right> respectively to avoid phase cancellation.

For smaller venues with a sound system less than what is specified on the stage plot and/or without a dedicated sound operator, Dutch Holly travels with their own sound system and therefore requires adequate load in, setup time, and a sound check prior to performance in order to ensure a quality performance.
