About
Duncan McCartney brings a lifetime of musical experience to everything he does. From undergraduate music studies at Mount Royal University and Vancouver Island University, to 15 years of professional performance experience across North America, to 10 years of full-time teaching, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a unique approach to every project.
Currently the bassist, keyboardist, and second vocalist of Calgary band In/Vertigo; Duncan has also performed with The Mike Mackenzie Band, legendary Guns N' Roses tribute The Nightrain, the infamous Calgary heavy metal band Lucid Scream, and many others. Comfortable with a variety of instruments and styles, he fits neatly into any musical situation.
As a solo artist, Duncan draws inspiration from a wide range of music. His cover repertoire leans heavily into Classic Rock, with a dose of blues, R n' B, classic country and pop. His original music takes all those influences and blends them into something soulful and fresh.
