About

What do you get when you throw in a mix of classic rock, country, red dirt and blues? The answer: DoubleWide Debris, who have coined their musical style as Southern Illinois country fried rock. They are an Americana band influenced by a variety of artists in multiple genres such as Blackberry Smoke, The Heartless Bastards, Ray Wylie Hubbard, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Led Zeppelin and Buck Owens.
DoubleWide Debris (DwD) was created in 2008 by vocalist, songwriter and guitarist Mark Chapman along with guitarist Carson Baker. They were joined by Mark’s son, Keith Chapman, on electric lead guitar. In 2009, the band added Traci Carter for lead vocals. Having a female lead with such unique vocals helped the band be distinctive.
The band soon grew tired covering popular rock and country songs and decided to begin playing their own original music that they had been writing behind the scenes for years. They added bass and drums to complete the band.
By 2011, the band had an extensive catalog and recorded their 13-track debut CD, Seven More Days to Someday. The album was engineered and co-produced by Dana Anthis of Anthis Productions. Through the band’s independent label, Big Red Truck Entertainment, their album was placed on over 22,000 AMI jukeboxes and the song “Pond Creek” was sent to 5,000 broadcast, online and satellite radio stations.
In 2013, the DwD released their sophomore album, Bridges Burned, which was a 10-track collection. They also premiered two videos: “Stuck in this Truck” and “Gray.” “Stuck in This Truck” charted for 3 months and reached #1 on KXLR Los Angeles in April 2014. Their simple power riffs, truthful lyrics and wit have made them a popular draw on their concert schedule. Bridges Burned won the Akademia Best Americana Album in April 2014 and “Gray” received the Beat 100 Gold Video Award.
Their third album, Carry On, was released in 2014. It was again engineered and mixed by Dana Anthis. The song “If That Don’t Call for a Beer” peaked at #39 on both the Cashbox Country Top 50 and the Cashbox Independent Top 50 Chart. Carry On also won the Akademia Best American Album. After this album, the band went on a southern tour and performed at multiple venues including some in Texas, Alabama, Missouri, Louisville, KY, and Nashville, TN.
After completing their southern state tour from spring through fall of 2015, the band took time off from performing to focus on writing and recording a new album. They took nearly a year to do their most recent album, Trashed. This 13-track album will be released on October 29, 2016.
DoubleWide Debris has an enthusiastic and dedicated fan base, which is evidenced by their growing numbers on YouTube and attendance at their shows. To date, they have done over 375 shows locally, regionally and nationally and have a fan base of 68,000 that is growing daily. Fans attend their shows because of the band’s original music with honest, relatable lyrics and the energy of the band when they perform live. Their videos on YouTube are very popular. “Gray” has had 103,189 views, Pond Creek has had 54,394 views, and “If That Don’t Call for a Beer” has had 34,586 views. DwD are proud members of the Americana Music Association and Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI). Based within 5 hours of Nashville, St. Louis, Memphis, Indianapolis and Chicago, DoubleWide Debris is at the epicenter of a vast array of music genres.
