To protect a valuable fine violin and ensure the best sound quality, performances are generally offered indoors or in well-covered venues protected from direct sun, wind, and adverse weather.
About
My musical journey began in Amsterdam, where I first took up the violin as a child. After my family relocated to the United States, I continued my studies with distinguished teachers in Kansas and California before earning a music degree from Stanford University.
Over the years, I have performed with orchestras, chamber ensembles, choirs, baroque groups, and recorder ensembles. Today, I draw on that musical foundation to present a diverse repertoire ranging from classical masterworks and popular favorites to Celtic fiddle and international music for themed cultural events.
I frequently perform as a duo with my husband, Bert, combining violin and recorder for folkloric, seasonal, and international programs. Together we have recorded six albums featuring our own arrangements of traditional English, Irish, and Scottish melodies. As a recorder player as well as a violinist, I bring added authenticity to Renaissance, Medieval, Celtic, and other historical repertoire.
For select themed and upscale events, I can also incorporate my background in dance and an extensive wardrobe of elegant performance attire to create a distinctive visual presentation that complements the music. Whether providing refined background ambiance or a featured cultural program, I tailor each performance to the unique character and atmosphere of the occasion.
Additional booking notes
I bring my own equipment: two violins (I always bring a second instrument for backup) and amplification if desired. My larger tower amp requires an electric outlet.
