What to expect
When you book Donny Coram, you're getting a professional, turnkey live music experience with zero guesswork.
Your guests will hear a fully live vocal performance backed by professional-grade tracks — delivering the rich, full sound of Hootie & the Blowfish and Darius Rucker's greatest hits, from Hold My Hand and Let Her Cry to Wagon Wheel and This. These are songs people know every word to. Expect sing-alongs, smiles, and a room that stays engaged from the first song to the last.
From an event planning standpoint, here's what working with Donny looks like: he arrives early, sets up quietly and efficiently, communicates clearly before the event about logistics and timing, and adapts his set length and energy to fit the room. Cocktail hour energy is different from a dance floor closer — he reads both and adjusts accordingly.
The setup is compact and self-contained. No large crew, no complicated technical rider, no surprises on the day of your event. For smaller venues, Donny brings his own sound system. For venues with existing audio infrastructure, he patches in cleanly and works directly with your house sound team.
For clients who need a larger production, a full five-piece band is available. Same catalog, same professionalism — scaled up for bigger rooms and higher-energy events.
About
Some artists spend years searching for the right music to call their own. Donny Coram always knew. From the moment Hootie & the Blowfish came across the radio in the early 90s, something clicked — not just as a fan, but as a performer who recognized exactly what that music was built for: real people, real rooms, and the kind of songs that make strangers feel like old friends before the first chorus is over.
Donny has been performing music for most of his life. Formally trained, seasoned by years of playing in bands and taking the stage in front of live audiences, he brings a level of craft and intentionality to every performance that casual listeners feel even if they can't quite name it. There's a difference between someone who covers songs and someone who inhabits them. Donny is the latter.
His live show is built around the full catalog of Hootie & the Blowfish and Darius Rucker's celebrated country solo career — two chapters of the same remarkable American story. The Hootie era captures something timeless about the mid-90s: warm, effortless, anthemic rock that somehow felt both massive and deeply personal. Songs like Hold My Hand, Let Her Cry, Only Wanna Be With You, and Time don't just sound good — they transport people. That's what Donny's performances are designed to do.
The Darius Rucker country chapter adds another dimension entirely. With crossover hits like Wagon Wheel, This, Come Back Song, and It Won't Be Like This for Long, Darius proved that great songwriting has no genre ceiling. Donny carries that same spirit into every set — blending 90s nostalgia with modern country in a way that plays equally well for a corporate crowd in Scottsdale, a packed bar in Tempe, or a private celebration where the hosts want music that brings every generation to the same dance floor.
Performing solo with professional-grade backing tracks and full live vocals, Donny delivers a rich, full-sound experience without the complexity or cost of a full band. The result is something rare in the live music market: a genuinely premium performance that fits nearly any event format — cocktail hours, corporate dinners, private parties, festival stages, restaurant residencies, and wedding receptions.
For clients who want the full production experience, Donny also fronts a complete five-piece band performing the same catalog with live instrumentation, harmonies, and the kind of energy that fills a room from wall to wall. Whether you're booking the solo show or the full band, you're getting the same commitment to an unforgettable night.
Based in the Phoenix metro area, Donny is available for events throughout Arizona and beyond. He is known for being easy to work with, responsive to clients, and professionally prepared from load-in to last song. The goal at every show is simple: make the room feel something, and leave people talking about it the next morning.
If your guests loved the 90s — or if they just love great live music — Donny Coram delivers exactly that.
Additional booking notes
Sound
For smaller venues and private events, Donny arrives with a complete self-contained PA system — no house sound required. For larger venues with existing audio infrastructure, he connects via standard XLR line outputs and works directly with your house sound engineer. A simple stereo feed is all that's needed.
Power
One standard 120V electrical outlet within 25 feet of the performance area. No special power requirements.
Space
Minimum 6x6 foot performance area for solo shows. A small table or stand for laptop and audio interface is helpful but not required — Donny can provide his own.

No specific lighting requirements. If your venue has basic stage or event lighting, great. If not, the show works perfectly without it. For premium events, a simple wash light or two dramatically enhances the experience — happy to discuss options.
