Winner of the 2011 Central Washington University Concerto Competition, and former member of the Shin Trio, Dongbin Shin has 15 years of experience as a performing artist at weddings, graduations, official government meetings and community events. Dongbin Shin has previously served as the concertmaster of the Hartt Symphony Orchestra at The Hartt School and had been a techniques class instructor for undergraduate violinists.

August 27, 2022The Dongbin Shin string quartet played at our 8/13 wedding in Hartford City Hall, and we could not have been happier with the result. Our wedding ceremony was elevated to the next level by their beautiful music. They played several classical pieces, as well as a piece of our request that they arranged and practiced just for the occasion. We were blown away by all of it, but that piece in particular sounded even better than we'd imagined it could.
Dongbin was also the easiest, most responsive and professional vendor to work with, and was flexible and accommodating of all our requests. We would highly recommend that anyone who is seeking a violinist or string quartet book Dongbin Shin's services.

July 2, 2022Communication 10/10, Performance 10/10. We went with the Trio for our wedding. Dongbin and his fellow musicians hit every note and created an atmosphere we will never forget. The music selection is very large with room for suggestions. I would love to see/hear more content via media tof his impressive performances. Awesome stuff!!

I was most extensively trained in classical music, but over many years of performance, I always take requests for music in other popular genres.
In addition to playing solo, I can arrange a string quartet, piano trio, or various other combination and bring the whole group upon request.
In some cases, when clients would like to hear piano accompaniment but are short on budget, I offer recorded piano/orchestral accompaniment to be played with my violin performance.
Born to a musical family, he started piano at the age of five before switching to violin. As teenage professional musicians that play at wedding ceremonies, receptions, graduations, festivals, official government meetings, and community events, the string trio he has formed with his two sisters garnered much attention from the local media.
In 2011, Dongbin has won the Central Washington University Concerto Competition, performing as the soloist with the Central Washington University Orchestra.
Dongbin has previously served as the concertmaster at the Hartt Orchestra, and a class instructor for undergraduate violinists at the Hartt School. Dongbin holds a Master of Music degree from the Hartt School.
