Music Bio: Don DeBold

Don's Love of guitar began on Christmas Day when he was 9 years old and received his first guitar... a beginners nylon stringed Classical Guitar.
Don's dedication and proficiency on the instrument would attract the attention of re-known performer and instructor Ignacio Vecchio who accepted Don as one of his very few protege possibilities. Classical and Spanish/Flamenco style would become the focus of study.
Don's private, one-on-one instruction continued for years until Don's appetite for musical diversity began to bloom. The Electric Guitar was cool ... Mr. Vecchio didn't agree ! ...
In his late teens Don's touring career as Lead Guitarist in various Rock and Metal bands ensued with such bands as Black Rose, the Answer, and Rise throughout the Northeastern U.S. Later, Don felt the need to once again begin Classical instruction but Ignaccio Vecchio had by now passed away. After a tedious search the legendary performer Stephen Pearson was found and Pearson agreed to accept Don for private one-on-one study. Stephen Pearson's teaching style intrigued Don and influenced Don's love of teaching the instrument as well.
After 12 years as staff instructor at Imperial Guitar and Soundworks Music School in Newburgh,N.Y. Don currently teaches at "the New York School of Music" in Walden, N.Y. offering instruction styles from Classical and Flamenco (including A.B.R.S.M. exam prep. courses for all levels... the model for the U.S.'s Juilliard School... the Associates Board of the Royal Schools of Music... recognized world-wide and throughout the current and former British Empire's dominions as the standard of Classical Music Curriculum ) , Blues, Rock, Metal, Shred, Jazz, Country, and General Instruction for beginners and most recently offering all afore-listed at K-Town Studios of Kingston, N.Y. in addition to performing at a plethora of venues.

Some of the venues Don's guitar playing has added elegance and sophistication to (casual and formal) includes :

- Wedding Ceremonies, Receptions, Cocktail Hours, and Dinner Hours
- Corporate Events (for some reason Car Dealerships have been big for the past few years... and... Spas... ?!...yup ! ... ?
- Restaurant Ambiance Performance (especially in quaint Italian Themed Settings)
- Wine Tastings
- Private Parties ( including Holiday Parties, Christenings, etc.)
- Special Events ( such as the "Black Tie" U.S. Marine Corps Birthday Bash at Anthony's Pier 9 in New Windsor, N.Y. ... November 9, of 2014... for Dignitaries, Politicians, Marine Officers Only and their families... approximately 850+ in attendance that enjoyed and cheered in military style Don's very special mix of music that included everything from Bach to the Beatles to Linkin' Park played in Classical and Spanish/Flamenco style.
Don's vast repertoire of arrangements (many of his own arrangements) played in Classical and Spanish/Flamenco Styles includes :

- From Bach and Mozart through Beethoven and beyond.
- From Chopin through "the Russian Five" and beyond.
- From Aguado, Tarrega, Villa-Lobos, and all Spanish and Flamenco Styles and beyond.
- Standards from Richard Rogers and soon to be considered Classical Music... compositions by Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison (the Beatles)
- Christmas and Holiday Favorites : (Such as everything from "White Christmas", "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town", Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, etc....)
- Ethnic (mainly Italian Favorites).... such as many of "the Godfather" movies featured themes... Hey, Mambo... Arrivederci Roma ...etc.
- Contemporary and Modern Hits (from Muse to John Mayer to Linkin' Park to Maroon 5 to Taylor Swift and John Legend and beyond....all Don DeBold arrangements>)
