He works with each client to make sure the repertoire is suitable and customized to add just the right touch to any event and is as comfortable providing ambience for a cocktail party or wedding as he is providing energy to a bar or house party. Marcus combines a quality musical performance with a pleasing sound and just the right amount of audience interaction, based completely on the type of event. You will find that he is prompt, courteous, personable, professional, and reasonably priced. Services include setting up his own equipment, delivering a quality performance, and taking down in a manner that is not disruptive to the event. He is also happy to dress according to the needs of the event. With decades of experience and hundreds of gigs under his belt, Marcus is sure to please audiences of all types!

Doc Marcus is a seasoned guitarist and vocalist with an impressive 35-year career in the music industry, performing hundreds of gigs featuring a variety of styles and settings and also recording and arranging seven albums. Specializing in rock and blues, Marcus has demonstrated remarkable versatility, mastering various genres with ease and passion. His profound love for music, combined with a natural talent and refined skill, has enabled him to stand out in the professional scene. From a young age, Marcus was captivated by the raw energy and emotive power of classic rock. He dedicated himself to mastering the guitar and honing his vocal abilities, drawing inspiration from legendary artists and bands that defined the genre. His dedication paid off, as he quickly became known for his dynamic performances and authentic sound. Throughout his career, Marcus has graced stages big and small, captivating audiences with his entertaining performances and heartfelt renditions. His ability to connect with the crowd, coupled with his technical prowess and deep musical understanding, has earned him a loyal fan base and respect among peers. Marcus is not just a performer; he is a storyteller, weaving narratives through his music and engaging listeners on a deeply personal level. Additional booking notes

Marcus plays a vintage 1950s Gibson L-5 through a Henriksen amplifier to provide the warmest and most versatile sound for any style of music. He also provides his own PA and mixer and needs only an electrical outlet for most performances. Marcus is also comfortable with playing fully acoustic using his PRS Angelus dreadnought guitar. He has played stages as small as a personal living room and as large as ArtPark's main stage.

Influences and inspiration

As a life-long guitarist and learner, Marcus has been influenced by a number of musicians including (in no particular order) Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, John Mayer, Pat Martino, Myles Davis, Chet Baker, Vernon Reid, The Edge, Paul Weller, David Gilmore, Jimmy Page, Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Freddie King, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Cash, Tommy Emmanuel, Keb Mo, Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, and many, many others. Two of Marcus's greatest and most recent influences are legendary Jazz guitar players Martin Taylor and Frank Vignola, both of whom Marcus had the pleasure of studying with for several years.

Setup requirements

Marcus only needs access to electricity and a small area to set up. He will provide all necessary equipment.
