My wife and I recently renewed our vows back in April, as our financial situation plus tensions in my family prevented us from having a wedding. I remember we married in a courthouse on December 20, 1974 and we saw The Godfather 2 that same night on a preview at the local cinema. We held hands and I remember seeing how the projector lit up the ring on her hand that took a whole month salary to purchase. I felt both full of pride, but also tinged with guilt as I could not give my bride a proper ceremony. However, as I looked up expecting to see her eyes reflecting back the lights from the movie… I instead saw them gazing upon me. Trey, our DJ for our ceremony was so skilled in both his music selection, and his clockwork accuracy on keeping our proceedings to a time table helped my bride and I go back to that time. He was so attentive during our initial free consult that I told him this exact story, and he remembered and played “Michael Comes Home” from the Godfather soundtrack while we were eating and suddenly I was back in time.
