In essence, you'll get a fun and friendly, professional & insured open format DJ who probably has the largest and most diverse collection of dance music that you'll find in Vancouver. In my lifetime I have amassed a massive collection of music ranging from the '70s to they early 2000s and beyond... ranging from disco, funk, synth pop, new wave, old school hip hop, and other sub-genres...all sourced from the highest resolution audio possible.

I have many years of beat mixing experience with all kinds of dance music, and I know how to properly work a dance floor for maximum enjoyment...including creating several of my own mixes and special edits on-the-fly to keep things flowing properly.

Hello! My name is Spencer, aka DJ FunkyBeak. I'm a music aficionado who's originally from Winnipeg, but have been in Vancouver for over 20 years. I started DJing with vinyl in 1993 as a 17 year old, did the nightclub DJ thing for about 14 years before semi-retiring, putting my focus on curating and collecting dance music from the '70s up to the early 2000's. Then finally in 2020 I started getting back into it, playing online via Facebook, Twitch and Mixcloud during the pandemic to rediscover my love for playing the kinds of music I've always loved best. Since the pandemic I have focused on in-person gigs, from weddings and staff parties to throwback-themed and roller-disco type events, both indoors and outdoors. I would love to add your event to my list!

-2 X JBL PRX ONE all-in-one powered column PA sound system. Compact but covers a wide area, indoors or outdoors.

Large Portable Battery Power Station, enables me to play without access to wall power outlets, for up to 4 hours. The units power all my equipment.
