I have a DJ residency in Chicago and teach English outside of working in music. I enjoy playing to a wide variety of crowds and working within multiple genres including: Top 40, Disco, House, Contemporary, Doo-Wap, Tech-House, Classics, Oldies, Throwbacks, (80s / 90s / 2000s Hits) and Background / Lounge / Chill.

DJ Austin James is an INCREDIBLE DJ!!!! We had a corporate event in chicago, and searched high and low for the absolute best DJ. We got tons of DJ submissions and careful looked through all of them with our internal event staff and team. DJ Austin James was easily everyones favorite. He responded quickly, was extremely communicative, and exceptionally professional and friendly. Not only that, HIS MUSIC WAS INSANE! It fit the vibe, aesthetic, and feel we were going for and more. Volume control was excellent, song selection spectacular, and everyone complimented us on how fantastic the music was! He took iniative and killed it in every regard! We couldn't have asked for a better DJ!

We had a long standing DJ cancel on our block park 2 weeks before it was held, leaving us scrambling. I knew Austin from before and immediately called him, he was available and affordable and he came and DJ’d our block party. Not only did he save our butts, but everyone loved his music and we’re going keep him on for next year too!!

Chicago DJ specializing in corporate and private events. I have played on the Chicago River, small intimate events and even with the New York Poetry Society throughout the Chicagoland area. My musical background is in Disco & House music, but also have classical training and appreciate Classical & Jazz. I love finding the right tone to help create a great event!
