What to expect

Audiences can expect a jaw dropping performance that will astound and excite the crowd in any performance made by Oscar Velarde.

About

Oscar Velarde is an actor and circus performer with over 12 years of experience. He is highly trained in acting, earning a Bachelors of Arts degree in acting from Academy of Art University in San Francisco under the head of the acting department at the time, Diane Baker. He has performed in both on camera roles and stage productions including the TBA award winning play Circus Maximus, a new twist on the Shakespeare drama Julius Caesar produced by We Players. His circus skills are specialized in juggling. Specifically specializing in the art of Diabolo aka Chinese yo-yo. He has performed in a wide variety of shows including El Gran Circo de Mexico, Hubba Hubba Revue, San Francisco Trolley Dances, Circus Center Cabaret, and Ruckus and Rumpus Revival (fka. Tourette’s Without Regrets.) His variety of skills are great for parties, corporate events, or stage productions.

Additional booking notes

Lighting for diabolo performances should be double checked by Oscar Velarde before the show to ensure there are no lights that will disturb his eyesight as it is extremely important to be able to see his props.
Music is preferred to be played by an on site sound system and the mp3 track can be easily emailed ahead of the event.
Oscar can perform his Diabolo act in a wide variety of ceiling heights however if the venue has a low ceiling height, he must be informed of it ahead of time in order to adjust his performance as certain tricks require around 20 feet of height to perform. The higher the better.
Extremely windy conditions could cause issues for a performance and if the winds are too high, cancellation of the performance could be in order as performing will be next to impossible to do as the objects flying in the air will be unpredictable and dangerous to the crowd.
