Amazing

So so glad we found DgSax on Instagram, and he was the first vendor we booked 18 months out! Our wedding was June 1 and guests are still talking about him and how unique of an experience it was. From cocktail hour until the end of the reception he played with our DJ seamlessly. Honestly never even had to talk much before our wedding because I trusted his experience at weddings and with our song choices/genre the DJ would be playing. He played it all from 80s rock to top 40. 10000% would book again and recommend to others!

Must have for any wedding! 🔥

There is a reason DG has only 5 stars!!! We hired him for our wedding reception to play along side our DJ and WOW he put the energy in the room over the top. We had three hours worth of dancing and the dance floor was packed for that entire time! People were even outside our venue asking our guests who was playing, everyone could feel the energy he brought to the party! He was able to play ANY and ALL songs and is a true talent. Our guests are still texting us days later about DG Sax. We truly could not imagine our wedding without him and looking for an excuse to book him again soon.

Highly Recommend

Derrick did an amazing job at our October 2024 wedding! Our venue had a DJ included and so we hired Derrick to join as a solo sax player. He is extremely talented and was able to play along with all of the songs on our playlist. Having him there elevated our cocktail hour experience and then he brought so much fun and energy to the late night dance floor. We (and our wedding guests) were blown away. Thanks DG Sax!

Before the event:

1) DG Sax is adequately prepared to perform at your event.
2) your expectations are exceeded!

During the event:
1) You can expect DG Sax to arrive approximately 30 minutes before the determined start time to properly introduce himself and set up his equipment (see his live event setup video above).

About

Born and raised in Oak Park, IL, Derrick Griffin, later known as DG Sax, was inspired by the smooth jazz sounds of Grover Washington Jr., Richard Elliot, and Gerald Albright, leading him to pick up the saxophone at age 8. He excelled as the lead tenor saxophone player for The Robert Morris University Illinois Jazz Ensemble, graduating with an MBA in 2018. Performing across Chicago with Hip-Hop, R&B, Funk, and Reggae artists, Derrick has opened for renowned artists like Wyclef Jean and Lupe Fiasco. His passion for improvisation and musical conversation has brought him to stages at the Taste of Chicago, WGN News, North Coast Festival, and on tours across the U.S. Derrick's versatility and dynamic style continue to captivate audiences nationwide.
