About

I’m Devon Braxton, a singer and live-looping artist performing soul, R&B, and high-energy covers for private parties, corporate events, weddings, and live music venues. I build musical layers in real time, creating a full sound with the flexibility and personal feel of a solo performance.

My sets range from laid-back music that lets conversation flow to upbeat favorites that get people singing and moving. Whether you’re hosting an intimate gathering, planning a company celebration, or looking for live entertainment for your venue, I tailor the energy and song selections to your event.

What I love most about performing is connection—taking a familiar song and making it feel fresh, reading the room, and sharing a moment with the people in it.

I bring my own sound equipment, handle setup and soundcheck, and coordinate the details with you beforehand so you can focus on enjoying your event.

Additional booking notes

I provide my own PA system and live-looping equipment, including setup and soundcheck. Technical needs vary by event, but the essentials are:
-Performance space: A clean, dry, level area with enough room for me, my equipment, and speakers. A raised stage isn’t required.
-Power: Access to a reliable electrical outlet near the performance area. Please let me know in advance if power is limited or unavailable.
-Outdoor events: A covered performance area that protects me and the equipment from sun, rain, and other weather, with an indoor backup plan for unsuitable conditions.
-Setup and soundcheck: Access to the performance area before guests arrive. We’ll confirm arrival, setup, and soundcheck times in advance.
-Sound: I bring my own system. Please share the approximate guest count, venue size, and any volume restrictions so we can confirm the appropriate sound setup.
-Lighting: No special lighting is required. For evening or dimly lit events, the performance area needs enough light to operate equipment safely.
-Venue coordination: Please share any stairs, loading restrictions, parking requirements, or venue-specific rules before the event.
-DJ or house-system integration: If I’m performing alongside a DJ or using the venue’s sound system, I’ll coordinate connections and technical details with them beforehand.

Any additional equipment needs or changes between performance locations should be discussed before booking.

Influences and inspiration

A few of my major influences are Michael Jackson, Prince, Paramore, Bruno Mars, and just hip-hop as a whole. What connects them for me is the feeling behind the music. The groove, the emotion, the energy, and the willingness to put your whole self into a performance.

I’m inspired by Michael Jackson’s command of a stage, Prince’s fearless individuality, Paramore’s emotional intensity, and Bruno Mars’ blend of soul, rhythm, and showmanship. Hip-hop influences the way I hear rhythm, build loops, and approach a song with my own voice and perspective.

More than anything, I want my performances to feel raw and authentic. I love the human side of live music. The emotion in a vocal, the spontaneous moments, and the connection that happens when a song means something to both the performer and the audience. Whether I’m stripping a song back or building it into something bigger through live looping, I want to bring my whole self to it—not just recreate the recording.
