Detroit Tracks/Tim Murray Sings

Tim and Honey arrive at least 30 minutes prior to a performance to set up their equipment.
For most events, that equipment includes a tower PA, a cafe table, a microphone stand and two microphones, a stool, a laptop, and maybe a couple of Tim's favorite "props," as he calls them: a tambourine and a jingle bell stick (for winter holidays). During part of their set-up time, they play appropriate, mood-setting background music.
Tim is impeccably dressed, usually in a tuxedo jacket (unless not appropriate), and Honey will be wearing sequins or sparkles. Audiences always remark how they enjoy seeing these performers dressed so nicely.
The performance begins with Tim singing a popular American standard (possibly Frank SInatra, Nat King Cole, or Bobby Darin), followed by more music that becomes increasingly energetic, with the audience being encouraged to sing along or, maybe, to dance. Tim injects fun and lighthearted, respectful humor into his shows, and audiences warm up to him immediately.
In between, Honey sings a few favorites, which may include Rosemary Clooney's "Mambo Italiano," a Doris Day melody, or even a Motown or Beatles tune.
Tim's final songs end the show on a very high note, with the audience fully engaged and having a fantastic, unforgettable time - and making the event even more successful and memorable.

Though Tim Murray is known in the area as a singer and performer, he founded Detroit Tracks Records in 1983, at the same time Detroit radio stations were playing his single, 'Thinking of You.' The reach of the internet and the public's ongoing love for Detroit music have once again brought Detroit Tracks Records - and Tim Murray - to the forefront of the Motor City music scene.
Most recently, Tim re-mastered and re-released some of his most-requested tracks. He has also been performing at area venues from private parties and church and charity functions to restaurants, clubs and civic gatherings - such as 4th of July and Memorial Day patriotic programs - and has become especially-popular as a singer of the Star-Spangled Banner, which he calls 'our country's true number-one song.'
Though Tim is often requested to sing with bands and orchestras, he usually performs with background tracks which have been hand-picked to meet clients' needs. This also keeps his costs to clients very reasonable. Tim's talented wife not only monitors his soundboard, but also sings a few songs during sets, including duets with Tim - and the audience is delighted!

His amazing repertoire includes titles ranging from Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra standards to Motown hits; novelty oldie and doo-wop tunes; 60's and 70's numbers; songs from the 20's, 30's and 40's and classic celebration favorites.
Tim sings at family parties, church events, charity functions, dinner-dances, restaurants and lounges, weddings and hors d'oeuvre hours - and more. He has found a special niche with assisted living and retirement complexes, and they keep calling him back for more entertainment for their residents!

For audiences of up to 150, Tim and Honey use their own speakers and microphones and arrive at least 30 minutes before performance time to set up.
At the performance site, an electrical outlet is required.
For audiences of up to 35, they are able to perform in all kinds of venues and spaces and can use a Bose speaker that does not require electricity.
They perform using professional backing tracks (though Tim does occasionally work with live bands). The tracks allow Tim and Honey to sing a variety of selections that can be tailored to the client's needs and also allow them to remain very affordable.
