April 5, 2025On the bill with an oldies band, Tim brought the audience to the dance floor for slow and fast dances and added class, warmth and fun as, dressed in a tux, he sang favorites of Sinatra, Dion, Nat King Cole, the Temptations, Elvis and more. He and his wife, Honey, wowed the crowd with their duet, "Unforgettable."

December 30, 2012I saw Tim perform at a Veteran's Day concert, and I immediately suggested him for our Red Hat Society Anniversary party. We had a 'Flappers' theme - and he performed all the music we had requested, got us dancing and singing along: it was our best party ever! He is a great singer and entertainer, and he and his wife are extremely professional every step of the way.

Though Tim Murray is known in the area as a singer and performer, he founded Detroit Tracks Records in 1983, at the same time Detroit radio stations were playing his single, 'Thinking of You.' The reach of the internet and the public's ongoing love for Detroit music have once again brought Detroit Tracks Records - and Tim Murray - to the forefront of the Motor City music scene.
Most recently, Tim re-mastered and re-released some of his most-requested tracks. He has also been performing at area venues from private parties and church and charity functions to restaurants, clubs and civic gatherings - such as 4th of July and Memorial Day patriotic programs - and has become especially-popular as a singer of the Star-Spangled Banner, which he calls 'our country's true number-one song.'
Though Tim is often requested to sing with bands and orchestras, he usually performs with background tracks which have been hand-picked to meet clients' needs. This also keeps his costs to clients very reasonable. Tim's talented wife not only monitors his soundboard, but also sings a song or two during sets, including duets with Tim - and the audience is delighted!

Everything from "Fly Me to the Moon" and "New York, New York" to "My Girl," "Mustang Sally" and "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You" -- as well as our national anthem, which Tim has performed before thousands several times at Detroit's Ford Field and other civic events.
Tim's wife Honey has been singing since the age of three, and she sings a few songs each set, including classics such as "What a Difference a Day Makes," "Blue Skies," "At Last," and novelty songs, such as "Itsy-Bitsy Bikini" and "Ssnta Baby." Tim and Honey also perform duets -- and Honey runs the sound equipment...
As a songwriter and singer who was exposed to and enjoys all types of music, performance selections were influenced by the American standard songbook, the Rat Pack/Vegas era, Motown, Doo Wop, Elvis, the Beatles, classic pop, and even patriotic songs. It is rewarding to put together performance song lists that meet the specific needs and tastes of clients, bringing joy, fun, reverence, and lasting memory to each event.
For event with 150 or fewer guests, we bring our own equipment and require only an electrical outlet.
