Detour is a high-energy, classic country and Western swing band with a huge repertoire and amazing musicians. Brian McNamara is the band’s leader as well as lead singer and bassist. He has been performing for over thirty years and has incredible musicianship and a flare for audience interaction. Steve Piticco has won international awards for his incredible talents on Telecaster guitar and is an inductee into the Ottawa Country Music Hall of Fame. The band often features piano, fiddle and steel guitar. Detour plays weddings, private parties, festivals, restaurants and bars.

This three piece band features Brian McNamara on vocals and bass, Steve Pitico on vocals and lead, and Monty Flindall on vocals and drums. Their sound is tight. They are talented musicians providing exceptional playing and vocals. Brian's great bass lines, and Monty's smooth percussion rythms are the foundation for the amazing Steve Pitico. Steve is one of Canada's premier Telecaster pickers and is a joy to both listen to and watch. Their repertoire is huge and can handle just about anything you ask for. You'll want to two-step and sing along to much loved classic tunes. Don't miss your opportunity to book Detour for your event!

August 31, 2023Detour is a great trio of musicians playing fantastic country and Texas swing tunes! The band is tight, with talented musicians and three awesome singers! The lead guitarist has travelled the world with his guitar skills, the bass player has massive guitar skills and fabulous vocals, and the drummer is fantastic and has a couple of vocals that will melt your heart! This is an upbeat group with fabulous music, great humour and a good time will be had by all!!!

Thanks Don- it was always a pleasure to perform at the Oasis. You and Carol ran one of the best venues in Cobourg for many years. The staff, the service and the ambiance were always top-notch and you were always supportive, fair and respectful towards the musicians.

August 29, 2023We were visiting the Cobourg area and decided to enjoy the outdoor patio and fine food at the Oasis. Detour were there, 3-piece band, incredible talent! Every band member wow! A perfect summer evening - each song was better than the one before. Little did we know that the guitarist was none other than the infamous tele-picker Steve Piticco. Detour puts on a world class show, quality, none better. Many thanks to the band! Yep, multi-talented Brian McNamara on bass and vocals... a must see! Let us know where Detour is next and we will be there. Cheers!!
