Ms. Hodges asked not to be recorded or photographed. Some of the people in attendance were offended by that. It was also stated that most of the jokes were not very original. Several of the committee members were upset at the fee, in regards to what we received.

Thanks for your feedback. This was an outside event, in the heat of the day, with a poor sound system. The microphone continually went out during the performance. Also, the audience was spread out in groups facing different directions, with no clear “performance area.” That is not ideal for a comedy show.
I asked not to be recorded, which should be a common courtesy of comedy show attendees. This info is also stated in the booking agreement. Interesting though, that they would be offended about not recording a “just ok” performance.
Deleta was timely, highly professional, and incredibly well-prepared to entertain us. She had everyone laughing so hard throughout the event. Several attendees were so impressed that they're already planning to book her for future events!

Deleta performed at my mom’s 70th birthday celebration and did an absolutely amazing job! She has us laughing from beginning to end!
What can I say, Deleta brought the house down with her humor, wit, deliverance and real-life connecting punch lines! Her stage presence was commanding yet, inviting! She drew you into every joke with a subtle softness, then BOOM unleashed the joke with full force! Immediately the place erupted into resounding laughter that filled the place. The youngest and oldest were holding their sides and bellies in concert from her jokes. Her use of every aspects of her arsenal was exacting. Just when you thought she was winding down, she would shift with perfection to a thought provoking question, that just a quick made you apart of the performance (literally) unbeknownst to you...and you found yourself laughing at yourself for getting "trapped" in the joke! Deleta's dedication to her craft is laudable! She was punctual, energetic, enthusiastic, relatable as well as approachable. I highly recommend that you contract her for your next event! Her material was not simply "churchy!" She may be labeled as a Christian Comedian, but I wouldn't put the box around her! She is a Comedian - one that doesn't have to offend, curse, use vulgarity or sexual overtones to be funny! Her material represents her experiences conveyed through jokes bringing others laughter and joy!
I am ready to book Deleta again, so if you are skeptical about booking her, come to our next event as my personal guest and see for yourself! You won't be disappointed and in fact will be BLOWN AWAY by her performance!

Deleta performed for our Father's Day Celebration and she really brought a lot of laughter and enjoyment to the crowd. I loved how she involved the audience in her performance. I could really relate to some of the things that she talked about especially the "Smart Scale" jokes and how when you are in a small church setting, you have to take on many roles. It was delightful how she put all together in a fun-filled Christian atmosphere that brought laughter to the audience of all ages. She was definitely a delight to work with and I will be keeping her in mind for any future engagements that may require the services of a Comedian!!!
