We are a team of two — I create live digital guest portraits on my iPad while my husband, Eric, helps by taking quick reference photos of your guests. This means no lines and no waiting at the table — your guests can continue enjoying the event while we work our magic behind the scenes.

Each portrait is hand-drawn in a fun, fashion-inspired style and printed on-site as a keepsake your guests will treasure. Every portrait is beautifully packaged in a clear sleeve with a backing for easy transport and display.

Hi! I'm Amy Chau, a live wedding and event illustrator based in sunny San Diego, CA. As the artist behind Deeryhill, I specialize in creating live digital guest portraits at weddings, parties, and special events. Every illustration is hand-drawn on my iPad, printed on-site, and presented to your guests as a personalized keepsake they’ll treasure forever.

With a background in science and a love for art, I made a joyful leap from biotech into the creative world — and never looked back. My work is a blend of fun, fashion-inspired style and heartfelt detail that captures the spirit of each guest. Over the years, I’ve brought my live art experience to weddings, engagement parties, birthday bashes, and corporate events across Southern California and beyond.

What makes my service unique? I don’t just create individual portraits — I also offer my signature Guest Montage, a group illustration that brings all your guests together (plus you and your partner!) into one beautiful, cohesive artwork. It’s a show-stopping keepsake and one of my most popular offerings!

Let’s make your event extra memorable — one portrait at a time!

Our setup is compact and flexible, designed to fit seamlessly into a variety of event spaces. We do not require any stage, lighting, or sound equipment. However, for the best guest experience and efficient workflow, we do have a few simple requests:

Table & Chairs: We kindly request 1 rectangular table (~ 6 feet) and 2 chairs. If unavailable, please let us know in advance and we can bring our own.

Shaded or Covered Space (for outdoor events): To ensure our screens and prints are clearly visible and protected from heat or glare, a shaded or covered space is preferred.

Nearby Space for Guests: Since we work from quick reference photos taken on-site, guests do not need to line up or pose. However, we do appreciate having some space nearby for Eric (our photographer) to take candid shots as guests arrive or mingle.

Lighting: Indoor or outdoor ambient lighting is sufficient; no spotlighting or special lighting is needed.

We arrive approximately 1 hour before the scheduled start time to set up and ensure everything runs smoothly.
