If I provide nothing else, I provide competence and commitment. I am a bit of a perfectionist, so when I decide that I am going to learn a piece, I will spend hours on it until I have it mastered.
In the days or weeks before an event, I will sit at the piano and play until my fingers are sore because I want to give my very best. I owe it to the audience, the client, and even to the composer of the piece (whether they be dead or alive) to play every work with excellence.
I am also very friendly---except when I am actively playing a piece. I tend to get "locked in" on a song and lose sensation of the world around me, so I cannot speak while playing. I have a very serious 'focused face'.

I learned piano at the age of ten. I received just over a year's worth of weekly piano lessons, but I have been self-taught since then. I decided when I was young that I was going to become excellent at something, and I chose that to be piano. Over the years, I took on harder and harder pieces to stretch my abilities. My repertoire includes pieces with a wide range of complexity.
I was invited to join the worship team at my church in 2025 and have grown in my skills greatly! I even participate on the youth worship team. I am able to play with a band or on my own.
I love the piano because it has structure and yet gives space for so much creativity! I am awed by composers such as Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy, who create such beautiful and simple-sounding pieces with enormous complexity. Their works inspire my own original compositions.
I love to play atmospheric pieces that are like balm to a stressed or overstimulated mind. Piano, for me, is more than just a challenge or (on the opposite end of the spectrum) a meditation. Piano is healing for me, and I know it is the same for others.

I prefer to play where a piano is already set up, but I can bring my own if necessary. I do not yet have an amp, but I can plug into any speakers that are provided. I can be flexible with lighting and staging---I do not need to be seen, but if you wish me to be seen, I am perfectly fine with that!
I also prefer to play on real acoustic pianos instead of electric keyboards, but I understand this is not always possible!!
