HWB is a 6-piece country band, with a blend of pop & rock!
With 12 years, hundreds of songs, and several hundred+ shows under their belts, Deb and The Hickory Wind Band take their audiences on a musical journey with some old-time country classics and some more modern country hits. Their traditional country sound remains an influence within their music. Playing the classic Nashville sound inspires them to share their musical love and energy across the US through Nashville on to the West Coast.
Performing at Weddings, Anniversary, Corporate Events, Festivals, Fleet Week San Diego, Junior Seau Oceanside Amphitheater, Fairs, and opening act for Coffee Anderson at the Del Mar Race Track!
The Hickory Wind Band was a fantastic addition to my event! Professional, courteous, and reliable! They played high energy songs and the attendees loved the vibe they brought. Great experience!
Response from Deb Shepard & The Hickory Wind Band:
Thank you Michelle. It was a pleasure working with you and your team.
Wishing You The Best of Everything,
Deb
I recently hired Deb Shepard & The Hickory Wind Band for a retirement party, and they were AMAZING. In preparation for the party Deb was communicative and made every effort to ensure their performance would be exceptional. Prior to the event she sent a set list and during the event she and the band engaged with the audience making it a night to remember. Many of the guests commented on how much they enjoyed the band. They truly have an all-audiences range. I can’t thank Deb Shepard &The Hickory Wind Band enough for really making our retirement party an event not soon to be forgotten.
Response from Deb Shepard & The Hickory Wind Band:
Laurie, Thank you for your kind words. We thoroughly enjoyed playing for your friends and family. You and everyone of your guest helped to make Terrie's retirement party a very happy occasion. You could see it in her eyes. I also thank you for all your effort, love, and friendship for a very special lady. Deb
What a fun day at the 2022 Borrego Days Desert Festival. There was so much to do from food vendors, an antique car show, a kids' play area to live music. I helped out with setting up and mixing the sound for Deb Shepard and The Hickory Wind Band. We had a blast and the band was so easy to work with and was completely welcomed by over 1,500 people at the festival. People were up dancing, singing along with the music and clapping for this high energy performance. Deb and HWB put on a great performance. I hope we can work together again and we hope to see them back soon in Borrego.
Response from Deb Shepard & The Hickory Wind Band:
Steven, I really appreciate your review and hope that we may work together again soon. Wishing You The Very Best of Everything, Deb, Dave and HWB
It was a pleasure having Deb & The Hickory Wind Band perform at the 56th Annual Borrego Days Desert Festival. We are an outdoor event and the music kept the festival atmosphere going. I'll be call on Deb and the band to perform at more events in Borrego Springs.
Response from Deb Shepard & The Hickory Wind Band:
Thank you Francoise for your review. We are looking forward to playing again in Borrego Springs. It was a fun event and everyone on your team was so helpful, it made our show a pleasure to perform.
I got to guest in a recent HWB show at Ocean Hills, a housing community in Oceanside last week, and what a fantastic time I had. First, let me thank Deb & Dave for inviting me to play, with the limited practices I had with the band, they could've easily subbed in other songs, but we played 'em all!
Second , the venue was ridiculous. I've never played at a HOA community center before, and this was fantastic. A real working stage with separate monitoring booths at the other end of the hall, and a whole host of community volunteers to help us set up and get great sound. And, if that were not enough, provided us lunch - in a green room (2 actually). I can assure you that this happens less than 0.1% of the time for local bands.
The HWB set-list was well put together and the folks that came to the event were up dancing almost from the moment we started playing, until the end. of the show. What more could you ask for? It was a great gig, with great players, and a fantastic audience and sound crew. I hope the band I play with in Scottsdsale gets some gigs like this!

Response from Deb Shepard & The Hickory Wind Band:
Tom, Dave and I could never express our gratitude for all the help you have given us over the years. We thoroughly enjoy making music with you and the sound you bring to our band. Thank you for everything. Until we play again! Cheers, Dave & Deb
My wife and I travel all over So Cal for local live music, and once we heard that the Hickory Wind band was performing nearby, we decided to stop in and check them out, and we were so glad that we did! And it was a real treat to see that the band members not only included guitar, bass and drums, but also a keyboard (!) and a double neck pedal steel guitar (!!) - all in the hands of talented musicians. Combined with the dynamic and finely tuned vocals of Deb (aka Lyn) we were treated to an evening of musical delight as they took us through a full spectrum of great songs. We were hooked till the end! Looking forward to catching your performance again real soon, thanks!
Response from Deb Shepard & The Hickory Wind Band:
Thank you so very much Roger. We hope to see you again soon. Wishing You The Best of Everything. Cheers, Dave & Deb & The Hickory Wind Band
Absolute pleasure working with this artist. We were thrown a lot of unexpected changes from the venue and the band adapted well, was great to work with, and put on an awesome performance getting everyone dancing and having a fun time.
Response from Deb Shepard & The Hickory Wind Band:
Matt, It was a pleasure working with you. You helped made each one on stage capture individually what we needed to make our performance spectacular from sound check to the end of our show. Your interpretation of sound is spot right on. I can't thank you enough! We hope to work with you again soon. Dave, Deb and The Hickory Wind Band
