Overview

Engaging storytelling for all ages.

I work throughout the Tri-State area performing for parties, corporate events, bonfires, libraries--anywhere people gather to enjoy a good story.

Hailing from Sleepy Hollow country, I specialize in Halloween tales as well as ghost stories and the macabre. I have a 25-minute version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow as well as other one-man shows. Hudson Valley Magazine called me "One of the Hudson Valley's Coolest Storytellers."

Great time at a surprise murder mystery party

David was a great Host for a surprise murder mystery party I threw for my wife. He created an intricate plot, game and characters where you were able to earn clues by doing various tasks and side quests. 11 of us were competing to determine who the murderer was. He was very responsive and helped make sure the surprise went off without a hitch. I would recommend him and book again.

Resilient and flexible storyteller

We hired David as a storyteller for our camp-themed wedding, and he was incredible. On the way to the event, he even had a flat tire, but despite that major setback he showed up, professional, and ready to perform. We had requested an Edgar Allan Poe story followed by spooky tales, and he delivered beautifully. His storytelling was engaging, atmospheric, and just the right amount of spooky. Even with a crowd of about 100 guests around a campfire, he projected his voice perfectly so everyone could hear. David was fantastic, and we highly recommend him!

This is the second time we have used David, he entertained a group of 5 to 11 year olds for us, and was able to keep their attention (no small feet!!!)

Great Storyteller for Teens

David was great! He provided a real wow factor to a small outdoor halloween gathering. He kept a group of 13 year old boys enthralled with his storytelling. I would definitely hire David again!

What to expect

My shows are professional, punctual, and enthralling. Audiences will laugh, shiver, and otherwise be fully immersed within the world I've crafted for them.

About

I am a classically-trained actor with a BFA from U.C. Santa Barbara. I have been involved in theater all my life, and and that experience has allowed me to create true performances whether I'm giving a dramatic reading of Dracula or Frankenstien at a cemetery, delivering a series of ghost stories to teenagers, or performing The Legend of Sleepy Hollow for audiences up and down New York's Hudson Valley.

I love a challenge, and will frequently work with a vendor to create a unique program perfectly tailored to their desires, such as when I put together a Halloween program for Sleepy Hollow Cemetery centered around graveyards or when I did the same for the NY Botanical Garden centered around stories of the dark side of nature.

In addition to my half-hour performance of Washington Irving's Legend of Sleepy Hollow, I have also mastered an hour-long performance of H.P. Lovecraft's The Call of Cthulhu.

Lest you think I only do dark, horrific work, I created an educational show which I bring to schools depicting the capture of Major Andre during the Revolutionary War- an event which unmasked the treason of Benedict Arnold and shifted the course of the war.

My murder mysteries are one-of-a-kind events that are fully interactive for everyone who attends. All guests are suspects, and everyone interacts with everyone else in an attempt to earn clues and unmask the kiier in their midst. These events, which usually serve between 20-50 people, need a large lead time as I create them from scratch made-to-order for your situation.

Whether your audience is made up pre-teens or CEOs, bring me in and we'll create a unique event they will remember for years to come.
