June 1, 2026We hired David for my daughter’s graduation party, and he exceeded all expectations. His voice was beautiful, his musicianship was exceptional, and he created the perfect atmosphere for our celebration. What impressed me most was his professionalism and dedication. Before the event, he worked with me to include many of the songs I requested, and he even took the time to learn a few songs he initially wasn’t familiar with. That extra effort meant a lot and made the performance feel very personal. During the party, there was an unexpected power outage, but he handled it flawlessly. Rather than letting it interrupt the experience, he continued engaging with the audience and carried on through the song, keeping everyone entertained and involved. It was a true testament to his talent and professionalism. Our guests absolutely loved him. Several people asked for his contact information because they were interested in booking him for their own events. He was a highlight of the evening, and I received countless compliments about his performance. I would not hesitate to hire him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a gifted musician who is reliable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about what he does.

April 26, 2026We hired David to play during a parent party for the graduating high school senior class, held in the backyard of our home.
He has an incredible voice, is a gifted guitarist and provided a more intimate and fun evening at our home vs a music playlist on Sonos.
We hope to hire him again in the future!

David Hudson is a lover of a wide range of music, and this presents itself through his playing and taste. One of his most impressive skills is seen when performing live for a solo act. Through the use of loop pedals, he is able to sculpt a much larger sound than you'd expect from one musician. Recorded right there in front of you, he layers in percussive parts drummed out on acoustic guitar, both rhythm and lead guitar parts, multiple harmonies, and soaring soundscapes. Close your eyes, and you'd think there was a full band playing.
Anywhere from classic sing-along tunes of the 60's and 70's or modern pops, to jazz standards, to ambient soundscapes that provide background setting, you can expect a completely professional and enjoyable experience.
Originally from Upstate New York, David Hudson is currently between Los Angeles and Austin.
He has been performing in a plethora of ways over the years, from his current solo act Willowspeak, to electro-pop rock groups like Joywave, or even Americana-funk groups like Upstate Rubdown. His primary focus over the past couple years has been song-writing and performing under the moniker "Willowspeak".
David's education background includes a B.S. in Jazz Studies fromt SUNY New Paltz, two degrees from Finger Lakes Community College in Music Recording & Guitar performance.
In 2015 and 2017, David worked on P&O Australia Cruises as the resident singer/guitarist for five month contracts each time. Performing nearly every night for almost half a year has allowed him to truly sharpen his skills as a solo performer and entertainer. Playing to a crowd of thousands every week, from children to elderly and everyone in-between, his specialty has become reading the audience and being able to play something for everyone.
