March 16, 2026We were a small family group, celebrating my husband’s 85th birthday. He’s a huge fan of ‘60s and ‘70s music, and the band was a wonderful surprise for him. David and crew arrived on time, set up quickly, and were ready to play before he even realized they were here. They covered many of his favorite songs, Beatles, Doors, Queen, and transformed the party into something very special.

David El is a bilingual (english and spanish) jazz guitarist, singer and rapper. A native New Yorker, David played in various rock and funk bands before studying Jazz guitar at the City College of New York(CCNY). David has been part of the Jazz scene in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2013.
Being the son of Puerto Rican immigrants and growing up in New York City, David has always cultivated diverse interests. Having a deep love of the music he grew up around, Hip Hop, Jazz, Funk and Rock as well as the music of his cultural heritage, Salsa, Bomba, Plena and Music Jibara has allowed David to have a diverse musical and cultural palette. As a mature artist, David is working to reconcile these diverse influences into a unified sound that expresses and honors these diverse influences in an accessible package; a music that is at once new and familiar.
