Walt Disney World, Sea World, Paramount Studios and Cruise Ships are a few of the larger entertainment companies that I have contracted with. Corporate experience includes the grand reopenings for Bass Pro shops and Total Wine and More. Frequent performer at the Palm Beach country club doing fundraising and weddings. I also have extensive festival (link hidden) vocal style has eared me standing ovations on the stages of Orlando Florida and reviews in The Orlando Sentinel that would be the envy of any entertainer.I sing and accompany himself without backing tracks. My finger picking style gives a rich full sound that enables me to be an up front performer or background music. All genres.

May 18, 2026David was fantastic! He provided the music for our awards night event and was extremely flexible in working with our schedule and agenda. He arrived on time, was professional throughout the evening, and helped create a wonderful atmosphere for our guests. I would definitely recommend him for any event if you’re looking for a talented and reliable guitarist.

April 24, 2026David was outstanding! Aside from being incredibly talented, he was a joy to have at our event. He was able to read the room, select music that was appropriate, and charm the crowd. We are a unique venue, and he offered suggestions to make the event memorable for everyone. He added the exact touch that we needed - easy to work with and creating the atmosphere we desired. He was on point with his pre-event contact as well. He will be our musician of choice for future events.

March 23, 2026David Donahue was absolutely incredible at my mom’s 60th birthday celebration! From the very beginning, he was a pleasure to work with—he even took the time to call the week before the event to go over all the details and make sure everything was just right.
His performance was outstanding. He played a fantastic variety of Jimmy Buffett and country music that really set the perfect tone for the party. Guests of all ages were engaged, singing along, and having a great time. You can tell he’s not only talented, but also truly passionate about what he does.
On top of that, he was extremely professional, punctual, and easygoing throughout the entire experience. He brought so much joy and energy to the celebration—it honestly wouldn’t have been the same without him.
If you’re considering live music for your event, do yourself a favor and BOOK HIM!! He’s an amazing performer who knows how to make any gathering unforgettable, no matter the crowd.

Christine, I can’t thank you enough for your kind words and truly spectacular review of my work. I think you should know that I feel the same way about you as you do about me. It was wonderful to meet you and your family and all of your friends and watching them have a good time. It is such an honor to be allowed to be a part of your families’s very important celebration. Your folks are terrific and I know that your mom and dad love you very much it shows. I have done a lot of entertaining in the past, but this is an event that will truly stand out in my mind for a long time to come. Thank you so much. All my best.David

December 15, 2025David Donahue was absolutely incredible! He did such a great job reading the room and played a perfect mix of hits from all ages, along with festive Christmas tunes that really set the mood. His music created such a fun, welcoming atmosphere for our store, and customers loved it. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely have him back again!

Most of the time a guitar single is pleasant background music. Your guests will be able to eat, drink and chat but believe me they are listening! They will approach you after or during the event if they are enjoying the music.
Having a bad guitar player can ruin your event and be an embarrassment to you personally. Also keep in mind that people like LIVE music. A guitar player that uses backing tracks (singing and playing along to a tape) is usually covering up some weaknesses in some cases, but not all.
If you are looking for more of a listening/dance type sound I recommend you use my band “The David Donahue Band “ If you have a special song that is not on my play list I will be happy to learn it for you if you give me some advance notice.
DAVID DONAHUE - ACOUSTIC GUITAR SINGLE/VOCALIST
Thank you for your interest. I’m an experienced actor, singer, and guitar player with over 30 years of experience. While studying at Stella Adler Theater Conservatory in New York City in the late 70s and early 80s, I started playing a guitar single as a way to make money between acting gigs. The guitar solo soon became a major part of my performing experience.
I have performed at Walt Disney World as a lead actor, singer, and entertainer. In addition, I have performed at Sea World at the 6000-seat Bayside Stadium performing in front of thousands of people singing and accompanying myself on the guitar. My experience also includes Paramount Studios / Carowinds theme park in South Carolina as a main stage performer. In addition, I have played on several cruise ships in the Florida area as well as corporate events. My Guitar playing experience spans local pubs, restaurants, weddings, and charity events among others, and rounds out my experience in the entertainment industry.
From beach music to standards or music from the 40s to today's future classics, I play a variety of music that is sure to please everyone. My vocal style has earned me standing ovations on the stages of Orlando Florida and reviews from The Orlando Sentential and Gainesville Sun that would be the envy of any entertainer.
I’m not a karaoke singer and I don’t use backing tracks. I sing and accompany myself in the tradition of singer-songwriters. My finger-picking style gives a rich full sound that enables me to provide great cocktail, wedding music, or background music. I can also pick up the beat and “get the crowd going” depending on your needs.
Here is what some of the critics have said in the past:
(About a production of Oklahoma)
…when David Donahue, as Curly, breaks into his opening “ Oh, What a Beautiful Morning”…The thrill is still as great as it must have been when Alfred Drake sang the first “Oh’ What a Beautiful Morning” on the New York Stage……
Elizabeth Maupin, Orlando Sentinel Theater Critic
(About a production of Foxfire)
Another plus of the play is Dillard’s singing and accompanying himself on the guitar. With David Donahue as Dillard, Santa Fe’s “Foxfire” not only has a dynamic singer, but a sympathetic actor…
Arline Greer, Gainesville Sun Theater Critic
