Holiday and Christmas Party Music
Wedding Ceremonies and Receptions
Art Gallery Openings
Live music creates ambiance. Guitar music is romantic, classic, stylish, and complements any event-- dinners, cocktail hours, corporate events, art openings, weddings, or receptions. Instrumental guitar music and finger-style playing fills space with beautiful ambient sound that allows conversation to happen without the potential distraction of vocals. I have been playing weddings for many year now so reviews and audio samples are available online.
David was an absolute joy to work with. He was professional, responsive, courteous and creative with his craft. We worked together on coming up with a set list that would really accentuate the ceremony and David took every request I gave to him and made it even better than I'd hoped for. He also had his own sound system that he brought in which really provided us with flexibility for where we could place him in the venue because he has the option of being battery powered. I'm so happy with the end result that David provided and I can recommend him with full confidence. Book him quick, because he's worth it!
Price Range: $200 and up
A native of the Commonwealth of Virginia, David Allen Coester began playing the guitar when he was a teenager and soon thereafter became a member of a high-school rock-and-roll band. Later, when introduced to classical guitar he completely altered his musical direction, and he now specializes in classical music. Mr. Coester earned both Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Manhattan School of Music in New York City. Since then he has continued music studies with the well-known organist-pedagogue Walter Hilse, emphasizing 17th- and 18th-century counterpoint. Currently living in Ithaca, New York he recently was a member of the music faculty of the Crestwood Music Education Center in Westchester County. He was invited to give master classes and perform recitals at the Nayhehol International Music Festival in Seoul, South Korea. Mr. Coester's playing has always covered a wide range of musical interests, but these days he is especially committed to 20th-century repertoire and to the music of J. S. Bach. Some of his recent public appearances include recitals at the Fredonia Opera House in Fredonia New York, Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.
