Overview

Danny Patterson is a professional drummer with over 30 years of drumming experience. Danny has played a wide range of gigs/recording sessions that range from Gospel-Country-Blues-Bluegrass-Oldies-Rock-Jazz-Folk. He has performed on over 30 albums, numerous singles & 2 live DVD's. Danny is also a member of the Percussive Arts Society, ASCAP and the Texas Country Music Association. Danny is an artist with numerous drum manufactures (check the "additional booking notes" section for more details). In 2018, Danny played over 220 dates between live shows and recording sessions.

Great guy to work with!

I believe Danny played with us for two years every Sunday. He was always on time, always prepared, and always sitting in the pocket. No matter what we threw at him week to week, he rose to the challenge. Just a great guy to work with and we would use and him again any time.

Top notch pro, plays em just like the record

Danny has played with us numerous times live and in the studio. Top notch pro, plays em just like the record. He's versatile and adapts to any setting. He's usually on a full kit but also kills it on the cajon for small or acoustic settings. A true gentleman, it's all about your show. Highly recommended.

What to expect

What can you expect from Danny if he sits in with your band or on your recording session? You will get a professional and easy going attitude. Being such an experienced drummer with genre and musical history knowledge, he can find ways to make your songs flow with ease and with finesse, playing the right drum part for your music. Danny has tons of experience playing to click tracks as well as MIDI in the studio as well as in live performances. If you need a little showmanship for your band's performance or from him, he can accommodate with that as well.

Danny has traveled to numerous cities in Texas (Austin, Borger, Dallas, El Paso, Harlingen, Hawkins, Kilgore, Luckenbach, Midland, Round Rock, San Antonio, Tyler as well as Houston) and to various states (Arkansas, California, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Wisconsin) for sessions as well as live performances. If he has an opening in his calendar he is willing to travel (does have a valid/current passport) to help you out with your performance and/or recording session.

Danny can also do a Virtual Performance using Zoom, Facebook Live, Instagram, etc. Virtual performances can be Drum Lessons/Performance, Q&A sessions, or even Danny doing a solo showcase playing multiple instruments.

Additional booking notes

For most gigs/sessions, Danny will use his drums (unless an adequate set is provided). He own various sizes of drums & percussion instruments (see below for list) and can provide his own mics and/or mixer to send a line to your mixer.

If you tell Danny the type of music you're performing he can bring what he feels is the perfect size kit to the gig/session.
