Influences and inspiration
A few of my favorite Influencers are:
Brene Brown, a psychologist who spent twenty years investigating and teaching courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy. She is regarded as an authority on sincerity, vulnerability, and bravery. The Power of Vulnerability, her TED presentation, has been viewed 35 million times. It is one of the top five most-watched TED lectures of all time. “What separates privilege from entitlement is gratitude.” (1965)
Les Brown, a well-known motivational speaker and a trusted resource for Fortune 500 firms, small businesses, non-profits, and community leaders from all walks of life. He is a very inspiring figure, having surmounted adversity in his childhood to achieve success in a variety of disciplines, including community leader, community activist, broadcast manager, and political pundit. “Someone's opinion of you does not have to become your reality.” ― Les Brown (1945)
Princess Diana was known as the "people's princess," and she enjoyed widespread adulation. She spent her entire life to helping others and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts to outlaw the use of landmines. “Everyone needs to be valued. Everyone has the potential to give something back.” – Diana ((phone number hidden)7), Princess of Wales
Mother Teresa, who embraced a life of voluntary poverty in order to aid others. Her work inspired entire generations to help others selflessly while also taking on world leaders to address inequity. “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” – Mother Teresa ((phone number hidden)7)
Zig Ziglar was one of the world's top motivational speakers, inspiring an estimated 250 million, or a quarter of a billion, people during his career. Zigler, known for his unwavering desire to assist others, made it his mission statement to coach others on their path to success. “Lack of direction, not lack of time, is the problem. We all have twenty-four-hour days.” ― Zig Ziglar ((phone number hidden)2)
Oprah Winfrey, hostess and creator of (link hidden) founded by Winfrey's firm to give information and interactive content connected to her television programs, magazines, book club, and charitable foundation. In addition to receiving roughly 20,000 e-mails every week, (link hidden) averages over 70 million page visits and over six million people per month. Through her show and website, Winfrey created "Oprah's Child Predator Watch List" to aid in locating alleged child molesters. “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” – Oprah Winfrey (1954)
Michelle Obama, the first lady of the United States, was reared in a one-bedroom apartment in Chicago before attending Princeton and Harvard, where she excelled academically. She is regarded as the most fashionable leading lady since Jackie Kennedy. “There are still many causes worth sacrificing for, so much history yet to be made.” – Michelle Obama (1964)
Coco Chanel was the daughter of a laundress and market vendor. Before becoming one of the world's finest fashion designers, she was a club singer and a milliner. “Fashion fades, only style remains the same.” – Coco Chanel ((phone number hidden)1)
