Overview

Oakland based singer songwriter Curt Yagi has been on a tear. Voted Best of the Bay Singer Songwriter (SF Bay Guardian) and RAW SF Musician of the Year, his songs are delivered in an inimitable and endearingly charismatic persona the SFBG describes as “the swagger of Lenny Kravitz and the lyrical prowess of Jack Johnson,” and The San Francisco Chronicle called Yagi “a talented songwriter who sings -- like Kenny Loggins.”

Best of all, Ben Fong-Torres, former Senior Editor, Rolling Stone had this to say, "People keep comparing him to other artists, but I think he just sounds like Curt Yagi, and that is plenty good enough. This is one excellent singer and songwriter."

Catchy music that engages the audience

Curt is a proper professional. He's great at playing catchy material that is appropriate for the venue. Curt is very personable and engages with the audience in a way that gets people moving makes them feel like they are a part of the show.

What to expect

Curt is available as a trio, a full band and/or anything in between. Curt's blend of acoustic rock mixed with ska and reggae will provide a fun ambiance adaptable to any situation. Curt has played more intimate settings such as house concerts and weddings, to bigger shows such as festivals and major venues.

About

My band is very adaptable depending on the situation as I am available as a solo artist, a full band (complete with even horns) and/or anything and everything in between. My style of music is happy acoustic rock with a touch of ska and reggae for an island-vibe and I am able to fit within the parameters of the gig. For example, I have played many smaller gigs (e.g. wine bars, small weddings, etc.) where I have brought a mellow trio to perform more in the background and I have also played big corporate events with the full band. I will say that my music is all original although I have about 20% covers that I can play. I do think what you get from me is a great experience with an original artist who knows how to play to the environment.
