Cuban Son

We hosted a Sales Kickoff in Tampa this year and, with only a few weeks away, our sponsor said, "Can you find me a band that plays Cuban music?" Thanks to a little searching on Gig Salad and a recommendation from other local bands, we found Cuban Son. They fit in perfectly at the rooftop bar location for a 2-hour set (in a very narrow space, might I add!). Reviews from attendees:

They sure sound great but beware. I hired them (deposit sent) and set for them to play my Grandaughter’s first birthday two months later. I co formed and followed up. One month, 4 weeks before the party; they called to ask if they could play earlier in the day because they were offered a big gig with 6000 patrons. It was a large Latin event in Gainesville and they wanted the opportunity. I could not change the timeslot because I had already scheduled a photographer, pony rides for the kids, and various activities around the time that the band was supposed to play. I understand that it was an incredible opportunity to be one of the smaller Latin bands for a big artist in Gainesville, but the integrity of the group was called into question for backing out and returning my deposit with less than a month to play at our party. I am a frequent reviewer and while 95% of my reviews are stellar sounds (positive), I’m committed to also letting readers know when a negative experience has occurred. It was not professional or courteous for them to cancel with less than a month notice and only because they had a better opportunity come along. I hired another group that was gracious enough to take the contract with less than a month notice. They were wonderful and will likely be playing every birthday for my granddaughter every baptism every wedding and every party we have from now on. Check out my review for Son2.

We hired them for a house party and they helped make it a memorable event for everyone. Sound was impeccable. Very professional group I’d hire again without second thought.

Would recommend this band!

We are a Latin family. The band came on time and brought all their instruments. The guests danced all night. I would reccomend to anyone who is looking for a Latin band.
