Overview
We are a 4 piece high energy and popular band who plays country, classic rock, and pop cover tunes. We play any and all types of venues. Examples are corporate events, bars and clubs, rodeos, weddings, community halls, grand openings, family reunions and birthday parties, private parties, Halloween, Christmas, New Year's, St. Paddy's Day, curling rinks and bonspiels, picnics, outdoor events, select charities and fundraisers, and anything else you can dream or imagine. We bring a rocking interactive show guaranteed to get your party started, delight your guests and keep it going all night long.

The Crossroads Band provided excellent entertainment for our Grand Opening at the Sweet Market Esso in Red Deer on July 31st! We wanted to shop local for a band, and Crossroads fit the bill! The crowd really enjoyed the music and interaction the band provided throughout the day. Kathy kept in touch with us prior to the event, offering a few ideas, promoting the event etc. Very helpful. Over-all, a very successful day, and we would highly recommend the Crossroads Band.

Working with the team from Sweet Market Esso was a delight from beginning to end. From the time we quoted the event, played the gig and wrapped up the day it was a total 5 Gold Star star rating from our end too. Barry initially booked us and then Glen, the owner of Sweet Market Esso, along with employees Leah and Tim came onboard to help make it all happen. They asked us regularly throughout the day of the event if we needed food, water, beverages, or anything at all. It was 30 degrees outside and in Canada that is one hot, hot day! They brought in a 48 foot curtain van for us as well, to use as a stage, so we had protection from the hot sun and a great platform to rock on. Any requests we had were met enthusiastically. This business provided an outdoor patio for all their guests, a delicious catered barbecue lunch, a clown to entertain the kids and sweet treats and random draws throughout the day. Everything was free for the public and amazing. Local radio was onsite and the crowd came and stayed or dropped in for as long as they could throughout the day. Some people arrived early in the morning to ensure they got a front row seat! Sweet Market Esso has a long line of gas pumps out front. It was awesome to watch people drive in for fuel, start dancing and videoing the band from the gas pumps, and then realize what was going on and come grab some lunch and stay for the music. We were treated like rockstars throughout the day. We were appreciated in a way that warmed our hearts and we will carry this gig in our hearts in the years ahead. Thank You to Sweet Market Esso! You rock!!!

What to expect
The client and audience can expect a high energy, fun for all professional show that rocks the room and ensures a great time for all. We arrive on time, set up and tear down efficiently, provide all lights, PA and sound production in a timely and professional manner. We are clean and well groomed and get into the spirit of the event: Halloween we all appear in costumes, black tie we all dress the part and jeans and boots and cowboy hats come out for those events that need that look. If it is a family event we can decrease our volume accordingly so everyone can visit and yet still get the little ones and the older folks out on the dance floor participating and having a great time. Whatever the event, we are the real deal to make it happen and let it be a time to remember.
About
Our band is fronted by female vocalist Kathy Carter. Kathy also plays rhythm guitar and keys. Ray Olson is lead guitarist and also covers lead vocals and beautiful harmonies. Roy James is our bass player and also adds lead vocals and sweet harmonies. Steve Keevill is the group's drummer/percussionist and also adds lead vocals and harmony. Steve also does all the band's sound and production. The band members are mature, seasoned and professional musicians. We bring a solid, polished and professional show to the stage but most importantly, we have fun and it is absolutely contagious with all of those folks in attendance!
Additional booking notes
For regular, everyday events we provide all our own lighting and sound production. For very large events all PA, lights and production would become a negotiable piece. Depending on distance from home, rooms, meals and travel may be another piece to negotiate. A non-refundable deposit, as per the Gig Salad Booking Agreement is required at the time of booking to secure your date. For outdoor events a covered stage is required to protect gear in case of inclement weather.

Our set lists are comprised of cover tunes by Shania Twain, Patti Loveless, Brooks and Dunn, John Cougar, ZZ Top, Wilson Pickett, Buddy Holly, J.J. Cale, Sugarland, Lobo, Joan Jett, Linda Ronstadt and many, many more. The sets contain a blend of up-tempo country, classic rock, a few pop tunes and the occasional original tune in keeping with the flow of the set list.
Influences and inspiration
The band members all come from different musical backgrounds and we all have played for many years. We love, love, love music. We are influenced by everyone from The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix to Johnny Cash and Shania Twain. Like all musicians, the world of music at large is our influence and our own talents shine through in that mix.
Setup requirements
Plugs ins with adequate breakers and power to support a 4 piece band is required. A covered stage is required if the gig is outdoors to protect musicians and gear from the elements. A generator is required if there is no available power supply. (remove)
If food, snacks and beverages are being served the band appreciates being included wherever possible. (remove)
