When you hire DJ Moe and Crimson Core DJ Services, you’re getting much more than someone who shows up with a playlist and presses play. You’re getting a professional DJ and MC who takes the time to understand your event, your guests, and the atmosphere you want to create—and then works to bring all three together through music.

My goal is simple: **your event should sound like you, not like every other event I’ve played.**

Every event begins with listening. I want to know what you’re celebrating, who will be there, what kind of energy you envision, which songs or genres you love, what you absolutely don’t want to hear, and any important moments that need to happen throughout the event. From there, I prepare music specifically with your event and audience in mind.

But I also know that no playlist survives first contact with a real crowd completely unchanged!

One of the most important parts of being a DJ is being able to read the room. I pay attention to what guests are responding to in real time and adjust accordingly. Sometimes the crowd wants more energy. Sometimes they need a change of genre or era. Sometimes a familiar song is exactly what brings generations together. And sometimes the best decision a DJ can make is knowing when to get out of the way and let a great song do its job.

### WHAT WILL YOUR GUESTS SEE?

They’ll see a DJ who is engaged with the room.

I’m not interested in spending an event staring at my laptop while a predetermined playlist runs from beginning to end. I’m watching your guests. I’m listening to the room. I’m looking for the head nods, the feet tapping under tables, the people singing along, the group suddenly moving toward the dance floor—and the signals that tell me it’s time to change direction.

My musical background spans generations, which is particularly valuable at events where the guest list does too. I grew up surrounded by the music of my grandparents’ and parents’ generations, developed my own musical tastes, raised three children who introduced me to theirs, and spent years singing and performing as the lead vocalist in bands.

Today, my musical wheelhouse stretches across decades and genres, including classic hits, rock, pop, R&B, soul, funk, disco, country, yacht rock, hip-hop, dance, house, EDM and much more.

That doesn’t mean every genre belongs at every event. It means I’m comfortable moving between musical worlds when the room calls for it.

A wedding reception with grandparents, parents, twenty-somethings and teenagers requires a very different approach than a restaurant patio, community festival, birthday celebration or high-energy party. I enjoy figuring out what *this particular room* wants.

### YOU’RE ALSO HIRING AN MC

Music is only part of what I provide.

My background as a singer and live performer means I’m comfortable behind a microphone. I provide clear, confident MC support when your event requires it, including introductions, announcements, special moments, transitions and other important cues.

My philosophy as an MC is that **your DJ should help lead the event without trying to become the event.**

I’m not there to turn your wedding, party or celebration into the DJ Moe Show. I use the microphone when it serves a purpose: keeping guests informed, directing attention where it belongs, building excitement when appropriate and helping the event move naturally from one moment to the next.

### PROFESSIONALISM WITHOUT THE STIFFNESS

Crimson Core is a professional service, but I never want working with me to feel impersonal or corporate.

I’m approachable. I laugh. I talk to people. I take requests when appropriate. I want you and your guests to feel comfortable coming up to me.

At the same time, behind that relaxed personality is someone who takes the responsibility of being hired for your event very seriously.

In addition to Crimson Core, I have successfully owned and operated a commercial service business in the local area for five years. Long before I started accepting DJ clients, I understood what it meant to earn someone’s business and reputation.

That experience follows me to every event.

I believe in communicating with clients, being prepared, arriving early, understanding the timeline, using dependable professional equipment and doing what I said I would do. Live events inevitably bring surprises, and when something changes, my job is to stay calm, adapt and help keep things moving.

You shouldn’t have to spend your event wondering whether your DJ has things under control.

### A SOUND-FIRST APPROACH

Crimson Core DJ Services is intentionally sound-focused.

My priority is excellent music, quality sound, thoughtful programming, smooth mixing, professional MC service and the overall experience of your guests.

I’m not trying to compete with enormous entertainment companies offering truckloads of special effects and turning every event into a nightclub production. There are fantastic companies that specialize in exactly that.

Crimson Core occupies a different space.

If you’re looking for a personable, professional DJ who puts the music, the people and the occasion first, that’s where I shine.

I use professional DJ and audio equipment from trusted brands, and I take pride in delivering clean, appropriately balanced sound for the event and environment. Louder is not automatically better. The goal is for the music to have the impact it should without making your guests fight to have a conversation when the moment doesn’t call for that kind of volume.

A cocktail hour should feel like a cocktail hour.

Dinner should feel like dinner.

And when it’s time to turn things up, **then we turn things up.**

### NO COOKIE-CUTTER EVENTS

One of the things I enjoy most about this work is that I never know exactly what kind of event will come next.

Crimson Core is a great fit for small and mid-sized weddings and receptions, rehearsal celebrations, birthdays, anniversaries, graduation parties, restaurants, community gatherings, festivals, holiday celebrations, corporate functions, family events and private parties.

I’m also very happy with events that don’t fit neatly into a category.

If there are people gathering and music can make the experience better, I’m interested.

I particularly enjoy intimate and community-focused events because they allow me to interact with the crowd and really become part of the atmosphere rather than disappearing behind a massive production.

### MUSIC FOR THE PEOPLE ACTUALLY IN THE ROOM

I don’t believe the DJ’s personal taste should dictate your event.

Yes, I have music I personally love. Every DJ does. But when you hire me, the soundtrack isn’t about impressing other DJs or showing everyone what *I* think is cool.

It’s about your guests.

If a song makes the room light up, I’m paying attention.

If your crowd suddenly comes alive for 80s music, we may stay there awhile. If the 90s and 2000s are working, I’m not leaving simply because my original notes said otherwise. If a country song brings everyone out of their chairs, that tells me something. If your guests are ready to dance, I’ll follow that energy.

Preparation gives an event structure.

Reading the room gives it life.

The best nights usually require both.

### REQUESTS ARE WELCOME

I believe requests can be incredibly useful because your guests know what connects them to one another.

That doesn’t mean every requested song automatically gets played. Part of my job is determining whether a request fits the event, the client’s wishes and the current energy of the room.

Your preferences always come first.

If you give me a “do not play” list, I respect it. If certain songs are meaningful to you, I want to know. If there are genres you love—or ones you never want to hear—tell me.

The more I understand you, the better I can represent you musically.

I’m DJ Moe, and when I’m behind the controller, my job isn’t to make your event feel like mine.

**It’s to make the music feel like it was always meant to be part of yours.**

If you had told me a few years ago that at this stage of my life I would be standing behind a DJ controller, headphones on, reading a dance floor and building a business around music, I’m not sure I would have believed you. And yet, somehow, it feels like music was leading me here all along.

I’m DJ Moe, owner and DJ behind Crimson Core DJ Services, based in Spanish Fort, Alabama and serving the Gulf Coast and surrounding communities. I’m a wife, mom of three, business owner, lifelong music lover, singer, and now, proudly, a female DJ building an entirely new chapter of my life.

Crimson Core wasn’t born from a lifelong plan to become a professional DJ. It grew from something much more personal: realizing I needed to rediscover who I was outside of the roles I had spent so many years filling for everyone else.

For most of my adult life, being a mom was at the center of my world. Raising three children meant years of school schedules, activities, celebrations, worries, victories, late nights, early mornings, and all the ordinary moments that make motherhood such an enormous part of your identity.

Then my children began growing up.

One by one, they became independent and started building lives of their own. Suddenly, the season of being a hands-on mom every day was coming to an end, and I found myself facing something I hadn’t really prepared for: becoming an empty nester.

There was tremendous pride in watching my children grow, but there was also a question waiting for me:

**Who am I now?**

When so much of your adult identity has been wrapped around taking care of other people, that can be surprisingly difficult to answer.

I realized I needed to get to know *myself* all over again.

What made **me** happy? What excited me? What could I lose myself in for hours? What part of myself had been quietly waiting in the background while I was busy raising a family and building a life?

It wasn’t that I needed something to fill my time. Quite the opposite.

I was—and still am—a business owner. For the past five years, I have successfully owned and operated a commercial pressure washing business here in the local area. I already had a career, responsibilities, customers who depended on me, and a business I had worked hard to build.

Entrepreneurship taught me to work hard, communicate, solve problems, keep my word, and understand that a reputation is earned one customer at a time.

I wasn’t looking for another job.

I was looking for **me**.

And when I thought about what had made me happiest throughout my life, the answer was something that had been there all along.

**Music.**

Long before there was DJ Moe, there was a girl who loved to sing. I sang throughout my youth and high school years and later became the lead singer in multiple bands. I loved performing, the energy of live music, and the connection that happens when a song reaches people in exactly the right way.

My musical education happened naturally across generations. I grew up hearing the music loved by my grandparents and parents, developed my own soundtrack, and later raised children who introduced me to entirely new generations of artists and sounds.

The result is a genuine appreciation for music across decades and genres—from classics, R&B, soul, rock, country and pop to funk, disco, hip-hop, dance, house and EDM. I don’t believe great music has an expiration date.

When I began learning to DJ, something clicked.

It was creative. It was technical. It challenged me. There was always another transition to learn, another mix to try, another genre to explore. I could spend hours working with music and completely lose track of time.

Most importantly, it made me feel like **me** again.

I wasn’t doing it because someone needed me to. I was doing it simply because I loved it.

That realization eventually became Crimson Core DJ Services.

I officially launched Crimson Core in 2026 after spending the previous year learning, practicing, performing, experimenting, and finding my own style behind the controller.

The funny thing is, I wasn’t necessarily looking to start another business. I went looking for a piece of myself I felt I had lost somewhere along the way—and apparently the entrepreneur in me came along for the ride.

My years of running another company also gave me a strong foundation for Crimson Core. I already understood that owning a business is about much more than being good at what you do.

It’s about communicating. Showing up. Being prepared. Doing what you said you would do. Treating people well. And understanding that when someone trusts you with an important event in their life, that trust matters.

I also happen to be a woman working in an industry where female DJs are still far less common, particularly in my local market. I’m proud of that.

I don’t believe a DJ has to fit a particular age, gender, image, or stereotype. In fact, I believe many of the things that make me different are also what make me good at what I do.

**Life experience matters.**

I’ve been the bride. I’ve been the mom. I’ve planned celebrations, worried about details, built businesses, raised children, and watched milestones arrive much faster than I ever imagined.

When someone hires me for a wedding, anniversary, birthday, graduation, community celebration, restaurant event, corporate gathering, festival, or private party, I understand that I’m stepping into a moment of their life they may never get to repeat.

I take that seriously.

At the same time, I don’t take *myself* too seriously.

I want clients to feel comfortable telling me what they love, what they hate, what absolutely has to be played, and what will get me tackled if I play it.

Every crowd is different, and every event deserves its own personality.

My job is to listen first.

Maybe you want a packed dance floor. Maybe you’re planning a relaxed outdoor celebration. Maybe your guest list spans several generations. Maybe you have a very specific musical vision—or maybe you only know how you want the night to *feel*.

That’s where I come in.

One of the things I love most about DJing is reading a room. A playlist can look perfect on paper and still be completely wrong for the people standing in front of you.

Are people tapping their feet? Singing along? Moving toward the dance floor? Are they ready for more energy, or does the room need a reset?

Sometimes the right song at exactly the right moment can change everything.

My background as a singer and performer also made the MC side of DJing feel natural. I’m comfortable with a microphone and understand that a DJ shouldn’t become the star of someone else’s celebration. My job is to guide the event, make important moments feel important, and help everything flow naturally.

Professionalism also happens long before the first song plays. It means communicating, arriving early, knowing the plan, being prepared, and staying calm when live events inevitably throw you a curveball.

My approach to Crimson Core has always been sound-first. I focus on great sound, thoughtful music selection, smooth transitions, confident MC support, and attentive service rather than trying to turn every event into an enormous production.

Not every celebration needs to look like a nightclub or concert.

Sometimes what people really need is a professional who shows up prepared, plays fantastic music, understands the crowd, and genuinely cares whether everyone is having a good time.

That’s where I feel most at home.

I especially love events that feel personal—small weddings, intimate receptions, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, community events, restaurant evenings, outdoor gatherings, holiday celebrations, family parties, and those wonderfully unconventional events that don’t fit neatly into a category.

One of my favorite sights from behind the controller isn’t necessarily a packed dance floor.

Sometimes it’s watching two people smile when they recognize a song that belongs to a memory they share. It’s seeing someone sing every word from across the room. It’s watching the person who insisted they weren’t going to dance finally give in.

Those moments are why music is so powerful.

A song can take you back decades in seconds. It can remind you of a person, a summer, your first car, your first love, your wedding, or your children when they were little.

It can remind you who you were.

Maybe that’s why this journey has meant so much to me.

Because music helped me remember who **I** was.

Becoming an empty nester initially felt like I was approaching the end of one of the biggest chapters of my life. What I didn’t realize was that another chapter was waiting for me.

My children growing up didn’t mean being their mother stopped being part of my identity. It never will.

It simply meant I finally had room to ask what else could be part of it.

Crimson Core became part business, part creative outlet, part challenge, part adventure, and part personal reinvention.

Learning to DJ at this stage of my life has taught me something I wish more people—especially women—were reminded of:

**We are allowed to keep becoming.**

You can raise your children, build a family, run a business, spend years taking care of everyone else, and still decide to learn something completely new simply because it makes you come alive.

There is no expiration date on finding your thing.

Apparently, mine involves a controller, a pair of headphones, thousands of songs, and the never-ending temptation to say, “Okay, just one more.”

Today, when I stand behind my DJ booth, I’m bringing much more than a music library.

I’m bringing the girl who loved to sing. The lead singer who once stood in front of the band. The entrepreneur who knows what it means to build a business. The wife. The mother I will always be. The woman who had to figure out who she was when her children no longer needed her in quite the same way.

And the person I’m still discovering.

All of those versions of me show up behind that controller.

That is the heart of Crimson Core.

When you hire me, you’re getting someone who genuinely cares about your event, pays attention to the people in front of her, respects the importance of the occasion, and wants to create a soundtrack that feels like **you**.

Because years from now, you may not remember every decoration or detail.

But you’ll remember dancing with someone you love.

You’ll remember everybody singing the chorus together.

You’ll remember how the night **felt**.

That’s what I want to help create.

I’m DJ Moe—a wife, mother, entrepreneur, singer, DJ, and a woman who discovered that sometimes an ending isn’t really an ending at all.

Sometimes it’s an invitation to meet yourself again.

I went looking for the woman underneath all the roles I had spent a lifetime filling.

And somewhere between the music, the headphones, and that controller, I found her.

Crimson Core DJ Services is my second chapter.

And so far, I really like the soundtrack.

Crimson Core DJ Services is designed to be professional, flexible, and relatively easy for venues and event planners to accommodate. I provide the **professional DJ equipment, sound system, microphone/MC capabilities, and DJ-area accent lighting—including uplights and tube lighting**—needed to create a polished, professional performance setup.

My goal is to arrive prepared with what I need so that the client and venue can focus on the event rather than worrying about the DJ setup.

### SETUP SPACE

A minimum **10' x 10' performance area** is requested to comfortably accommodate my DJ setup, table, speakers and lighting. The area should be level, safe, reasonably close to the event area, and positioned where the sound system can effectively cover the audience.

I do not require a raised stage for most events. A suitable ground-level performance area is perfectly acceptable.

Whenever possible, I appreciate discussing placement with the venue or event coordinator ahead of time. DJ location can make a significant difference in sound coverage, crowd interaction and the overall flow of an event.

### POWER REQUIREMENTS

My setup requires a minimum of **one dedicated 15–20 amp electrical circuit** from a reliable power source located within approximately 50 feet of the DJ area. The circuit should be free from other significant electrical loads.

**Two dedicated circuits are preferred when available**, particularly for larger setups or events.

Reliable, properly grounded power is important not only for performance quality but also for protecting professional audio and DJ equipment.

If your venue has unusual electrical limitations, generator power, distant power access or other special circumstances, please let me know in advance so we can determine the best solution before the event.

### SETUP & BREAKDOWN

I request access to the performance area approximately **two hours prior to the scheduled start time**. This allows adequate time to unload, set up, connect and test equipment, perform a sound check, position lighting and make sure everything is ready before your guests arrive.

I also request approximately **one hour following the event** for equipment breakdown and load-out.

One of my priorities is being completely set up and ready when your event begins—not rolling speakers through your guests or troubleshooting equipment after they arrive.

### OUTDOOR EVENTS

I absolutely enjoy outdoor events, but professional electronics and Alabama weather aren't always the best of friends!

For outdoor performances, the client or venue must provide **adequate overhead shelter for the entire DJ setup and equipment**.

The performance area must provide protection from rain and other potentially damaging weather conditions. If severe or unsafe weather develops, I reserve the right to temporarily stop or discontinue the performance when continuing would present a danger to guests, myself or the equipment.

Safety always comes first.

If you're planning an outdoor event, I strongly recommend discussing the rain/weather plan with me ahead of time rather than waiting until event day.

### SOUND

Crimson Core is very much a **sound-first DJ service**.

My focus is professional-quality audio, great music, appropriate volume levels, smooth mixing and clear microphone audio rather than creating an elaborate nightclub-style production.

Sound levels are adjusted according to the environment and type of event. Cocktail hours, dinner service, ceremonies and social gatherings shouldn't require guests to shout at one another across the table. When it's time for dancing and higher energy, the system can be adjusted accordingly.

I make every effort to work cooperatively with venues regarding reasonable sound restrictions and local noise requirements. If your venue has a strict decibel limit, sound ordinance, curfew or other audio restriction, please provide that information before the event.

### LIGHTING & STAGING

Crimson Core is a sound-first DJ service, but that doesn't mean the DJ area is visually forgotten.

I provide **uplighting and tube lighting for the DJ performance area**, creating a clean, polished and professional-looking setup that adds atmosphere without overwhelming the event itself. The lighting helps define the DJ space and gives the setup a finished look, particularly for evening and indoor events.

My standard lighting is designed primarily to enhance the **DJ area** rather than provide full-room lighting or an elaborate nightclub-style lighting production.

I generally **do not require a raised stage**. A safe, level performance area with adequate space for my DJ setup, speakers and lighting is normally all that is needed.

If your event requires full-room uplighting, extensive dance-floor lighting, specialty effects, large-scale staging or other production elements beyond my standard DJ-area lighting, please discuss those needs with me before booking so we can determine what will be appropriate for your event.

My goal is to provide a setup that looks professional and intentional while keeping the focus exactly where it belongs—**on the music, your guests and your event.**

### MICROPHONE & MC SERVICES

Professional MC services are available as part of my DJ service.

I can provide clear announcements, introductions and other event-related microphone support according to your timeline and needs.

If your event includes special presentations, speeches, ceremonies or unusual microphone requirements, please let me know during planning so I can make sure the appropriate setup is available.

### MUSIC PLANNING & REQUESTS

Music requests and event information are always welcome!

Whenever possible, I ask that important song selections, special requests and event/music planning information be provided **at least one week before the event**. This gives me time to prepare your music library and programming rather than relying on last-minute availability.

Guest requests can also be accepted during the event, subject to the client's preferences and the appropriateness of the request for the event.

Most importantly, **your preferences come first**. If there are must-play songs, special moments, favorite genres or music you absolutely do not want played, I want to know.

### VENUE COORDINATION

I'm happy to work with your venue, coordinator or event planner regarding load-in, equipment placement, power access, timelines and other logistical considerations.

If a venue has special rules for vendors—specific load-in locations, stairs, elevators, restricted setup times, sound limits, insurance requirements, difficult equipment access or other unusual conditions—please communicate those requirements as early as possible.

The fewer surprises we have on event day, the more attention everyone can give to the reason we're actually there: **your event.**

My goal is to arrive prepared, get set up efficiently, work cooperatively with your venue and other vendors, and be completely ready when the first song needs to play.

You shouldn't have to worry about the DJ setup.

**That's my job.**
