Richard was so easy to work with it is silly. He's low maintenance, very kind and courteous, and he handled everything we put in front of him. We had a HUGE corporate event, and he made it so much better with his presence and his music. We will be using him again when we come back to the area with the event for sure.
Pricing was reasonable and the service was worth every dime.

December 14, 2024Awesome Holiday Party - Best Music Decade the 80's
I looked at a few different DJ's and they all were cookie cutter, the same... Boring. Retro DJ jumped out at me and it couldn’t have been a more perfect choice for our Corporate Christmas Party. Popular Christmas songs then mixed in the 80's genre with all the music from our high school years! Music makes the party and I highly recommend Retro DJ!!

This was a fantastic experience!! It was very obvious that the DJ was professional and very experienced in his field! I had never seen a Hybrid DJ before and I have to say the experience with the added keyboard and electronic percussion added so much to the show and made it an incredibly unique experience for everyone!!! I would absolutely highly recommend Retro DJ to everyone!!! The music selection was also fantastic!!!!!

What to expect
I’m a seasoned musician but I simply love being around music in most any format and try to shape the level of entertainment to the event. I owned and operated a mobile DJ business a few years ago and decided to jump back in full time after several area bookings from word of mouth. I grew up in Neosho, Missouri, lived in Joplin for several years, and now live in Springfield. My gear is new and I have a vast amount of experience in DJ-ing and live music.
About
I grew up absorbing everything music! From early piano lessons to voice training, guitar, synths, organs, and more! I’ve done bands, solo shows, and mobile DJ work since 2000.
I’ve been an entertainment manager, booked some big names, trained sound techs, and just love being around most any music. I’m a professional but like to make events fun too.
Additional booking notes
I use a pair of EV 30 columns with sub woofers. The sound is amazing and adequate for a room of 30-500 guests at a moderate volume. Lighting is provided that’s appropriate for the event. .

Setup requirements
No special power or support accommodations needed. A single 120v outlet within 20’ is preferred but up to 100’ is doable with advanced notice. About 8’ deep x 10’ wide will fit my setup.
