Corina Dance

Corina is a professional dancer, choreographer and instructor specializing in the exotic dances of the Middle East. Corina was born in New York and raised in Bali, Indonesia, where she spent the first 17 years of her life before moving to LA to pursue a higher education. While attaining her degree in Literature and Anthropology, Corina wanted to try something new, make some friends and stay in shape when she decided to take her first belly dance class. Falling in love with belly dance immediately, Corina began training on a regular basis under the tutelage of Melanie Kareem and her school of Belly Dance in Topanga Canyon. Belly dancing soon became more than just a hobby but a livelihood that supported her financially, physically and emotionally. To Corina, belly dance was her gateway to dance, opening her eyes to a plethora of dance styles that she never thought she could do, filling her with inspiration and motivation.

After graduating from UCLA in 2010, Corina continued to evolve her dance, studying, performing and teaching throughout LA. In addition to her every day training, Corina has had the pleasure to study with some of the world's most illustrious dance masters including, but not limited to, Randa Kamel (Master Egyptian dancer), Sema Yildiz (Master Turkish dancer and teacher of Didem), Cok Ratih (Balinese Princess and Master teacher/Performer), Colleena Shakti (Master Rajasthani dancer), and many more. With her unique background in dance and her dedication as a life learner, Corina offers mindful, engaging and innovative instruction as well as exciting, dynamic, and soulful performances. Corina has had the privilege to perform at notable venues such as The Greek Theatre, The Gibson Amphitheater, Staples Center, Million Dollar Theatre, Fais Do-Do, LACMA and at several restaurants within the LA area. She has also had the honor to choreograph for National Geographic's documentary: "Party Like a Roman Emperor" and to perform on Tori Spelling's TV show "Tori and Deans Storibook Weddings". Corina has performed for several international artists in concerts and festivals including famous Persian artists Andy Madadian, Farhad Besharati, Leila Forohour, and Mohammad Khordadian.

Dancing has taken her all over the world from Los Angeles, Vegas, Dubai, Turkey, India, Bali and more. Her rich and diverse dance experiences enriches her performance with the quality and uniqueness of a true artist. When dancing, her grace, musicality and genuine love sends audiences on a breathtaking and unforgettable journey. She currently teaches belly dance at UCLA and at Corina's Dance Studio. With her unique talent and multicultural background, Corina strives to share the beauty and joy of dance.
