What to expect
Guests can expect a well-organized, hands-on creative experience led by a professional instructor from start to finish. Each event begins with a brief introduction, materials setup, and a clear overview of the project. The instructor then guides the group step by step, offering demonstrations, tips, and individual support throughout the session.
The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and social, making it easy for beginners to participate without pressure or prior experience. Guests are encouraged to explore their own ideas while still feeling supported and confident in the process.
All materials, tools, and cleanup are handled for the group. Events are paced thoughtfully so guests can enjoy the creative process without feeling rushed. By the end of the experience, everyone leaves with a finished piece they created themselves, along with a shared experience that feels engaging, collaborative, and memorable.
About
Color Cocktail Factory began as a simple, community-driven idea. It started with free, open-air painting lessons in Chicago—bringing canvases to empty lots, attaching them to fences, and painting what we saw together, step by step. Those early sessions were about accessibility, curiosity, and creating a welcoming space for people who didn’t think of themselves as “artists.”
As interest grew, the classes moved into a small studio in the Pilsen neighborhood. From there, Color Cocktail Factory slowly evolved into a full creative studio offering structured, instructor-led workshops for the public, private events, and corporate groups. While the scale has grown, the original philosophy remains the same: creativity should feel approachable, social, and genuinely enjoyable.
Today, Color Cocktail Factory hosts a wide range of hands-on experiences including painting, pottery, mosaics, candle making, and mixed-media workshops. Events are designed to be beginner-friendly, thoughtfully paced, and professionally facilitated so guests feel supported and confident throughout the process.
The studio is led by an artist who studied through the graduate level at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, bringing both formal training and years of real-world teaching experience into every class. Whether working with first-time creatives or large teams, the focus is always on creating meaningful, well-organized experiences that leave guests feeling connected—and proud of what they’ve made.
Additional booking notes
Color Cocktail Factory is flexible and can adapt to a wide range of event spaces, but we strongly recommend hosting events at our studio whenever possible. Our venue offers a fully immersive creative environment where guests are surrounded by kilns, pottery wheels, clay slabs, glazes, and a wide variety of professional tools and materials. This setting allows for more creative options and a relaxed experience where guests can comfortably make a little mess without worry.
For off-site events, we provide all necessary art materials, tools, table coverings, and supplies required for the selected workshop. No specialized lighting, sound, or staging is needed. We typically require tables, chairs, and access to a standard electrical outlet when available. Adequate indoor or shaded outdoor space is recommended.
Setup time is usually 30–45 minutes prior to the event, with additional time afterward for breakdown and cleanup. Specific space needs vary by activity and are confirmed in advance to ensure a smooth experience.
