About
cj giovanni, the legacy poet, is a Savannah native who draws inspiration from the poets of the Black Arts Movement and from the Black experience. She is a TedxSavannah Alum, 2nd place winner of 2023 Savannah Grammar Poetry SLAM! and has been a featured poet during Sapelo Island’s Cultural Day, Savannah's Black Art Expo, The Day of Jubilee: Echoes of Freedom at Plant Riverside and the Savannah Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival. Her work has been featured in Castle of Our Skins, Paint & Poems and Darling Nikki: An Anthology of Creative Works Dedicated to the Memory of Nikki Giovanni, Volume One.
