City Violinist

Violinist Yuri Kye enjoys a dynamic career as an orchestral, chamber, and genre-crossover musician, recording artist, entertainer, and educator, and has performed across North America and Europe. A member of the Sarasota Opera in Florida since 2017, Yuri performs regularly with groups including the Oakland Symphony, Monterey Symphony, Santa Cruz and Stockton Symphonies, the San Jose Chamber Orchestra, and West Edge Opera, as well as previously with the Festival Napa Valley Orchestra, San Francisco Chamber Orchestra, and The RenoPhil. Additionally, Yuri has appeared as concertmaster with the Merced Symphony, Festival Opera, Berkeley Community Chorus & Orchestra, and Soli Deo Gloria, In addition to her orchestral work, she has performed and toured with several best-selling acts, such as Sigur Ros, Halsey, Kygo, Michael Bublé, Tony, Toni, Tone!, the Trans Siberian Orchestra, and Andrea Bocelli. Yuri's work extends to theatre and television, having been featured as the solo violinist and fiddler of the new multi-Tony-award-winning adaptation of “A Christmas Carol on Broadway” on its first North American tour in 2021, and PeacockTV’s TV series “Paris in Love". Yuri performs at many private & public events annually, including in Candlelight Concerts by Fever, and in October 2023 performed before the casket of Senator Dianne Feinstein's at the San Francisco City Hall. Passionate about sharing music and educating young musicians, Yuri engages in community and volunteer initiatives for music education and free chamber music performances through various programs in the San Francisco Bay Area, maintains a private studio of violin students, and mentors accomplished young violinists at Young People’s Symphony Orchestra in Oakland, California.
