Chef Jason Lamountain developed his passion for cooking when he was a young child. He took culinary arts classes at Alvirne High School (while working at Nashua’s Michael Timothy’s) and was later accepted to the very prestigious Culinary Institute of America (CIA) located in Hyde Park, New York.
At the CIA some the best chefs in the world, including 16 of the worlds 60 Master Chefs, taught him their craft. While at the CIA Jason spent 3 years working in the Functions Department which was responsible for all of the catered functions on the CIA campus. At the same time, he also ran a boutique Bed and Breakfast that focused on local vegetarian cuisine.
After graduation Jason traveled to New Orleans, to work for the Marriott Cooperation’s flagship property. During his time in Louisiana Jason worked in the French Quarter where he was able to hone his customer service skills working at a 1,400-room property.
Jason came home to New Hampshire where he worked at the famous Bedford Village Inn’s Pastry Department. Ever have a Chocolate Bag? He made those. Jason later took a position in corporate dining where he was responsible for meeting the meal requirements for hundreds of people each day. For more than 1 year he fed over 1,000 people per day!
While working in corporate dining Jason was also studying for his Master’s in Business Administration at Southern New Hampshire University. After graduating with Honors from SNHU Jason accepted a position as the Private Chef for FLIR, a high-end technology company in Nashua, feeding all of the employees including the executive board and catering all training classes.
Jason has a passion for the Culinary Arts and for sharing this love of delicious food with others. He resides in Nashua, NH with his wife, son and daughter who've often traveled "up north" to Pittsburg, NH, home of Moose Alley. In 2011, co-owners Stacy and Chef Jason celebrated their marriage with a Pig Roast and Wedding Pies on Back Lake in Pittsburg, NH. From that day forward they have worked toward what you see today: City Moose Catering.
